Abstract: This invention relates to self-extinguishing polymeric compositions, comprising a thermoplastic polymer, preferably a polyolefin, and an anti-flame additive consisting of:(1) 10-25% by weight, on the total composition, of an ammonium or amine phosphate; and(2) 10-25% by weight, on the total composition, of a product obtained by reacting in bulk, at a temperature comprised between 80.degree. C. and 230.degree. C.,(a) at least one organic compound selected from the group consisting of(i) linear or cyclic nitrogen containing compounds having at least one >C.dbd.O or >C.dbd.S group and at least one --NH--group being part of the linear chain or of the ring, and(ii) amino-triazine compounds; with(b) an epoxyalkyl ester of isocyanuric acid of the formula: ##STR1## wherein n is an integer from 1 to 3; the reaction being carried out according to a molar ratio (a):(b) comprised between 3:1 and 0.1:1.
Abstract: Oligomers of the formula ##STR1## which contain at least one piperidinyl moiety in the repeating unit are useful as light stabilizers for polymers.
Abstract: The invention is directed to flame-resistant, transparent aromatic polycarbonate compositions comprising polycarbonate resin and an additive amount of a member selected from the group consisting of aldehyde-bisulphite adducts and ketone-bisulphite adducts.

Abstract: A method for producing flame resistant synthetic polyamides, suitable for inning is described, wherein melamine and isocyanuric acid are reacted in an aqueous environment at the melamine isocyanurate formation temperature. An aqueous suspension of melamine isocyanurate is obtained having a maximum granule size not exceeding 2 microns, substantially free from agglomerates. The suspension is admixed with the monomeric material and the whole is submitted to polymerization. The invention provides a successful method for obtaining flame-resisting polyamide fibers and yarns owing to the presence therein of the melamine isocyanurate additive.
