  • Patent number: 9804149
Abstract: A medical testing machine provides improved recall and display of the outcomes of tests performed by the machine. Test outcomes and other information are stored in mass storage directly accessible by the medical testing machine. In one aspect, outcomes of tests relating to a particular patient may be recalled. The system may be especially useful for tests that may be performed multiple times for a particular patient over a period of time, for example testing for HbA1c hemoglobin levels in diabetes patients. According to another aspect, the medical testing machine may store an accession number for each test outcome, and may enable a user to display as a group test outcomes having the same accession number. The system may store further information and associate it with particular test outcomes, for example calibration information. The system may also store a set of rules under which each test instance was run.

  • Patent number: 8762171
Abstract: A healthcare decision support system simulates effects of a change in a number of patients. A repository includes patient specific clinical and non-clinical data, comprising multiple medical record attributes of multiple patients. A simulation processor receives data representing multiple factors for adjusting a value representing number of patients in corresponding multiple associated subsets of the multiple patients. An individual subset comprises patients having a particular medical record attribute of a particular type. A calculation processor identifies patients common to different particular subsets, and calculates a change in a value representing number of patients common to the different particular subsets by calculating a product of factors associated with the different particular subsets.

  • Patent number: 8676603
Abstract: The local surveillance sub-system recognizes that a patient medical procedure has or will soon commence by sensing the presence of a healthcare professional in or near the surveillance area, and in response, creates a separate patient medical procedure A/V file for the surveillance data that will be captured. A dedicated procedure remote may be provided for receiving manual interactions from HC professionals present for a procedure or, alternatively, the local surveillance sub-system may autonomously interact with a personal security token device possessed by the HC professional. A procedure data file is also created that holds all of the pertinent information concerning the procedure that is known by the local surveillance sub-system. The patient procedure surveillance A/V file is given a higher priority than ordinary surveillance data captured by the local surveillance sub-system and is then copied to a nonvolatile memory.

  • Patent number: 8346570
Abstract: A method for consistent processing of pharmacy data. An order for a prescription is transmitted from a healthcare facility to a pharmacy. The pharmacy transmits a claim relating to the order from the pharmacy to a processing center. The processing center reviews the claim according to predetermined claim criteria and either accepts the claim if it conforms to the claim criteria or rejects the claim if it does not conform to the claim criteria. The processing center transmits one of an approval notification and a rejection notification to the pharmacy. For rejected claims, the processing center transmits at least one basis for the rejection to the pharmacy. The pharmacy corrects the non-conforming portion of the claim, then transmits the corrected claim to the processing center. The claim review and approval or rejection steps are then repeated until the claim conforms to the predetermined claim criteria.
