Abstract: A micropump check valve device which can be designed thin with good assemblability and applied with urging force. The micropump check valve device includes an upstream side member having a small-bore hole for passing therethrough a fluid, a downstream side member having a large-bore hole for passing therethrough the fluid, and a valve member having a valve mechanism sandwiched between the upstream side member and the downstream side member. The valve mechanism includes a passing hole formed in correspondence to a position and a size of the large-bore hole in the downstream side member, a contacting part formed inside the passing hole in correspondence to the position and size of the small-bore hole in the upstream side member thereby to close the small-bore hole, and supporting parts formed to bridge across the passing hole to support the contacting part. The valve member has a greater linear expansion coefficient than the upstream side and downstream side members.

  • Patent number: 7299816
Abstract: An inflation valve includes a main valve body having an outlet port, a rupture port, and a pull cord retainer. A puncture retainer body secures a puncture disc within the main valve body to seal the outlet port to gas flow. A slot in the puncture retaining body permits gas flow to the outlet port. A puncture pin received within the puncture retaining body includes a center bore permitting gas flow to the outlet port. A rupture disc breaks under high pressure conditions to permit pressurized gas to exit the rupture port. The rupture disc and puncture disc are interchangeable. A release assembly associated with the pull cord retainer permits manual release of the puncture pin. A vacuum washer is sealed between a vacuum retainer and the pull cord retainer to prevent gas from exiting the pull cord retainer when the inflation valve is activated under vacuum.

  • Patent number: 7287546
Abstract: A fuel pressure regulator for use in internal combustion engines. The fuel pressure regulator includes a valve seat and a vale body disposed downstream of the valve seat and is designed to move the valve body away from the valve seat through the pressure of fuel applied directly to the valve body. This eliminates the need for a diaphragm and results in a simplified structure of the fuel pressure regulator.

  • Patent number: 7287541
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method of controlling the flow of a fluid are provided. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a flow control device includes a valve having a flow path defined therethrough and a valve seat in communication with the flow path with a valve stem disposed in the valve seat. The valve stem and valve seat are cooperatively configured to cause mutual relative linear displacement thereof in response to rotation of the valve stem. A gear member is coupled with the rotary stem and a linear positioning member includes a portion which complementarily engages the gear member. Upon displacement of the linear positioning member along a first axis, the gear member and rotary valve stem are rotated about a second axis and the valve stem and valve seat are mutually linearly displaced to alter the flow of fluid through the valve.

  • Patent number: 7284565
Abstract: A fluid flow regulator useful with swimming pool suction cleaners includes a flow passage conduit for connection between a suction pump and the pool cleaner. A flow bypass conduit is connected to the flow passage conduit for injecting an ambient fluid into a bypass flow passage. A valve operates within the bypass flow passage with a spring carried entirely within the bypass passage for urging the valve toward a seated position. An adjustment knob acts on the spring for modifying a biasing force on the valve urging the valve toward the seated position in opposition to a pressure from a fluid flow within the flow passage urging the valve to the open position.

  • Patent number: 7284564
Abstract: A gas supply system arranged for dispensing of gas at a predetermined flow rate. The system employs a gas dispensing flow circuitry arranged for dispensing gas at selectively variable gas flow conductance conditions, to maintain the flow rate of the dispensed gas at a predetermined, e.g., constant, value in the operation of the system. The gas dispensing flow circuitry may include an array of dispensed gas flow passages, each of a differing conductance, or alternatively a variable conductance gas flow passage equipped with a variable conductance assembly for modulating the gas flow conductance of the passage, in response to sensed pressure of the gas or other system parameter. The system permits the flow rate of a dispensed gas to be maintained at a consistent desired level, despite the progressive decline in source gas pressure as the gas source vessel is depleted in use.

  • Patent number: 7275561
Abstract: A discharging valve assembly for a reciprocating compressor includes a discharging cover coupled with a front frame so as to cover a cylinder in which a piston is inserted; a discharging valve inserted in the discharging cover, and opening/closing an inner space of the cylinder where gas is compressed; and an unbalancedly and elastically supporting means elastically supporting the discharging valve so that contact pressure applied to the discharging valve when the valve comes in contact with the contact surface of the cylinder is unbalanced. Accordingly, the discharging valve assembly can improve discharging efficiency of gas compressed in the cylinder and discharged, and can minimize noise generated when the discharging valve comes in contact with the cylinder while moving.

  • Patent number: 7273062
Abstract: A shut-off valve for preventing the flow of liquid through a conduit is described herein. The valve includes a valve body which defines a fluid passage, a portion of which can be venturi-shaped. The valve also includes a flow barrier which has a dimension sufficient to block fluid flow through the passage. The flow barrier is movable between an open position which allows fluid flow through the passage, and a closed position which prevents such flow. A target for detecting liquid flow is pivotally attached to the flow barrier, and is exposed to liquid flow and gas flow when the flow barrier is in the open position. When liquid flow hits the target, it swings away from the direction of flow, thereby pivoting the flow barrier to the closed position. Related methods for preventing the flow of liquid through a conduit are also described.

  • Patent number: 7270140
Abstract: A poppet valve assembly is sized and constructed for insertion into the lower portion of a flow control valve used within the opening of a cylinder for storing a compressed gas. When the flow control valve is removed, the normally open poppet valve assembly of the present invention is closed by escaping pressure of the compressed gas. The pressure of the compressed gas causes seals to be formed within the poppet valve assembly of the present invention between the exterior of a substantially hollow movable seat plug and the interior of a substantially tubular valve body.

  • Patent number: 7270141
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for controlling a viscosity of a fluid. The control system includes a controller controlling an input to an actuator and an observer estimating the viscosity of the fluid. The controller includes an input, and the actuator is capable of controlling a viscosity of a fluid by delivering a gelling agent to the fluid. The observer and the controller are coupled together. The observer may be used to determine the viscosity at the current time from a sensor and filter combination that lags the actual viscosity value. The estimated sensor and filter output may be then compared to the sensor and filter output to make corrections to the estimate of the viscosity of the current time.
