The shut off valve generally includes a housing having a mass spring system mounted therein for translating lateral seismic and other shock forces exerted against the housing to an axially movable magnet for decoupling a valve member plate attracted thereto allowing it to block the downstream fluid communication path. A small bypass flow permits the valve member plate to be automatically reset in engagement with the magnet when the atmospheric pressure upstream of the plate is substantially equal to the atmospheric pressure downstream of the plate.

When the movable valve member (208) leaves the stationary valve member (205), the valve opens. Operation of the movable valve member (208) is controlled by a diaphragm which moves to balance the pressure of the pressure chamber (211) and the pressure of a back pressure chamber (213) combined with a biasing pressure of a compression coil spring (214). As a result, the pressure of the pressure chamber (211) can be controlled without a specific sealing member or complex structure. In addition, a pressure regulating valve according to the present invention is compact and easy to install, and has no specific member to seal the stationary valve member.

    Abstract: Three-position solenoid valve which outputs an output pressure and can adopt exhaust, overlapping and supply positions. The output pressure is detected by an output pressure sensor and is fed back to a fuzzy control unit. Based on the difference between the output pressure and the command pressure corresponding to the pressure command signal from the brake control unit, such fuzzy control unit calculates a command current value for controlling the three-position solenoid valve by fuzzy reasoning. The command current value can adopt an essentially continuous value, and consequently the three-position solenoid valve can adopt a gentle exhaust state or a gentle supply state. In this way, sudden changes in the output pressure can be suppressed and the output pressure can be made to converge rapidly on the command pressure and eliminate overshoot and undershoot.
