Abstract: Apparatus and methods associated with an enclosure or structure including two sections that are adapted with a snap-fit interlocking structure. Various embodiments of the enclosure or structures are formed with various case hardening or embrittlement processes to increase embrittlement or hardness of the enclosure or structure so as to create a structure or enclosure which has a desired fragmentation capacity while still maintaining sufficient material properties to permit snap-fit insertion of one section into another section and withstand substantial impacts. Embodiments also provide an interlocking structure that minimizes differences in fragmentation or fracturing capacity as contrasted with other portions of the structure or enclosure. An embodiment of the invention includes an enclosure where one section of the enclosure or structure has a first thickness and the second section has a second thickness, wherein the first and second thicknesses are different.

Abstract: A system includes a threat warning system and a countermeasure system. The threat warning system generates threat data that includes at least a threat coordinate value. The countermeasure system includes a wide-angle laser beam director and the infrared counter measure system that is configured to receive the threat data including the threat coordinate value from the threat warning system and causes the beam director to direct a divergent laser beam based on the threat coordinate value and cause the beam director to vary an angle of the cone based on an aircraft signature perceived by a threat.
Abstract: A rifle assembly includes a rifle and a forward rail guard. The rifle includes a receiver, a barrel extending forwardly of the receiver, and forward rails arranged around a portion of the barrel. The forward rail guard mounted to the forward rails and extending from a rear end proximate the receiver and a forward end extending forwardly of a forward end of the forward rails. The forward rail guard can include left and right guard sections configured to separately connect to left and right side forward rails of the rifle and extend below a barrel thereof.
Abstract: An gas supply system for use with an airsoft gun to power a pneumatic engine contained within a receiver of the airsoft gun. The gas supply system includes a bottle of pressurized gas that supplies pressurized gas at a first pressure to the receiver. A pressure regulator is located between the supply of pressurized gas and the pneumatic drive engine and operates to reduce the pressure of the gas from the first pressure to a second pressure. The pressure regulator is supported on the airsoft gun and allows the pressure of gas supplied to the pneumatic engine of the airsoft gun to be regulated. The pressure regulator includes an adjustment dial that allows an operator to change the pressure of gas supplied to the airsoft gun. The pressure regulator can be located between the bottle of pressurized gas and the receiver.
Abstract: Implementations of a rear sight block for AK-type rifles are provided. In some implementations, the rear sight block may be drop-in-compatible with most AK-type rifles and performs several functions (e.g., providing a guide hole for the piston of an AK-type rifles operating system) associated with prior art rear sight blocks found on AK-type rifles. In some implementations, the rear sight block disclosed herein comprises an optic mounting interface having an integral rear sight notch therein, and at least one accessory mounting interface. In some implementations, the optic mounting interface places an optical gun sight secured thereto in line with the iron sights of the host AK-type rifle. In some implementations, the accessory mounting interface may be used to position a flashlight, laser, and/or other firearm accessory on the left (or right) side of the rear sight block.
Abstract: A method of forming a gun barrel is disclosed that includes applying one or more coatings to the gun barrel such as just a top coating, or a bond coating and then a top coating. The method may also include (before applying one or more coatings): threading an outer surface of the gun barrel proximate a first end of the gun barrel; threadedly coupling the first end of the gun barrel to a gun chamber; fixedly coupling the gun barrel to the gun chamber. The method may also include heat treating the coating layer(s), contouring the outer coating layer, applying a ceramic top coating to the contoured outer coating layer of the gun barrel, and/or sealing the gun barrel with a liquid metal sealer.
Abstract: A muzzle brake that will remove 80-90% of rifle recoil is disclosed. The invention uses cone shaped nozzles similar to rocket nozzles to expand the gasses properly in the correct direction to eliminate most of the rifle recoil and muzzle climb. The marksman can keep his rifle on target and fire all day without having a sore shoulder.
Abstract: In the field of aiming devices for firearms, an interface includes a longitudinal median plane XX?, and: a first portion able to be fixed on a weapon, a second portion movable with respect to the first portion, elements for damping the movement of the second portion with respect to the first portion, an upper portion including elements able to allow the fixing of a telescope or a camera, wherein: the damping elements include at least a first and a second damper, one of which is placed on one side of the longitudinal median plane and between the first portion and the second portion or the upper portion, and the other one is placed on the other side of the longitudinal median plane XX? and between the first portion and the second portion or the upper portion.

Abstract: A munition that is adapted to enhance fragmentation effects upon detonation includes preformed fragments between a casing and a shell. The overall mass of the preformed fragments is greater than the overall combined mass of the casing and the shell for enhancing the degree of controlled fragmentation compared to uncontrolled fragmentation. By enhancing the dispersal of controlled fragmentation, the overall fragmentation area coverage and fragmentation pattern density may also be enhanced while limiting travel of the fragmentation beyond the target area for reducing collateral damage. The preformed fragments may fill a continuous volume between the casing and the shell to effectively utilize the munition volume and to maximize the amount of preformed fragments contained within the shell. The preformed fragments may be free flowing pellets that are poured into the volume between the casing and the shell for enhancing distribution of the fragments and for improving assembly of the munition.
