Abstract: A storm drain sediment filter that can be adapted to cover a catch basin and be held in place by a perforated grate. In one embodiment, the filter includes a frame including four L-shaped rigid members, each of which is provided with at least two spaced apart retaining members. The four L-shaped rigid members are arranged such that a rectangular frame is formed having a total of four overlapping sections. The retaining members engage one of the overlapping portions of the frame but slidably receives the other. No retaining ends are formed at the distal end of the slidably engaged L-shaped members to serve as a sliding boundary. Instead, the dimensions of the filter bag are such that the filter bag serves to define the maximum dimension of the frame and thereby maintain the overlapping L-shaped rigid members in slidable engagement with each other. A circular embodiment is also disclosed.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for treating and removing particulate matter from fluid or treating and removing fluid from a recoverable particulate matter from fluid circulating into, through and out of an industrial operation, and for washing a disposable cartridge filter used therein. The influent fluid is maintained at a flow rate such that the differential pressure across the cartridge filter is no greater than 10 psi to prevent the buildup of non-porous filter cake. A pressure detecting mechanism and method is also provided to detect the amount of deposited particulate matter inside the cartridge filter, so that an operator can determine whether the cartridge filter should be taken out to remove or recycle the deposited particulate matter.
Abstract: A filter screen brush apparatus includes a circular connecting portion that has an opening substantially centered on a longitudinal axis of the apparatus. At least one extension arm has one end coupled to the circular connecting portion and extends from the circular connecting portion along the longitudinal axis. The at least one extension arm includes an inner surface that faces the longitudinal axis. At least one brush is coupled to the inner surface of the at least one extension arm.

Abstract: Prevention of contamination of a dried product, deformation of particles, and a change of particle size distribution. The system includes: a solid-liquid separator in which a processing material is supplied between a pair of endless separation filter cloths wound around an outer periphery of a separation roll, and is dehydrated by being squeezed therebetween and also by ventilation gas passing from a ventilation port formed in an outer peripheral surface of the separation roll; and a horizontal rotary dryer provided on a subsequent stage of the solid-liquid separator, wherein carrier gas is made to flow in a rotating shell of the dryer in a cocurrent manner in the same direction as a conveyance direction of the processing material.
Abstract: A filtering device may includes a bag-shaped filter member that is capable of being connected to a fuel inlet port of a fuel pump disposed in a fuel tank in order to filtrate fuel drawn by the fuel pump, and a wall member that is connected to the filter member such that a fuel reservoir portion can be defined above the filter member.
Abstract: A work vehicle includes a work implement and an operating fluid tank. The operating fluid tank has a tank body and a strainer. The tank body is for collecting operating fluid for driving the work implement. The strainer is installed inside the tank body and includes a cylindrical filter and a cover member. The cylindrical filter is disposed with an axis extending in a vertical direction. The cover member includes an upper plate part and a cylindrical part. The upper plate part of the cover member covers an upper surface of the filter. The cylindrical part of the cover member extends downward from an outer edge part of the upper plate part and covers an upper side surface part of the filter with a gap between the side surface of the filter and the cylindrical part, while allowing a lower side surface part of the filter to be exposed.
Abstract: A method for air drying a filter cake contained in a filter chamber defined by a first filter plate, which comprises an air inlet for supplying drying air into the filter chamber to expel fluids from the filter cake, and a second filter plate, which comprises a fluid outlet for discharging fluids from the filter chamber. The method comprises throttling the air flow into the filter chamber by means of an orifice plate that acts as a flow resistance connected in series with the flow resistance of the filter chamber. Preferably the orifice of the orifice plate is so sized that, in case the flow resistance of the filter chamber falls below a normal level, choked flow is achieved in the orifice.
