  • Patent number: 5151007
Abstract: Robots for industrial use having an arm mechanism of a horizontal multiple articulated type. The load movement mechanism and the arm expansion mechanism, which are provided within the robot arms in advance with respect to the change condition through the catching of the gravity force changes by the force sensor from a case where the weight is moved, placed to a case where nothing is grasped, are properly operated, so that the mutual dynamic interferences of the respective driving portions of the robot may not be caused or may be made minimum, and may be made simple in shape by the comparatively simple control apparatus, with an effect that the superior robot which is capable of stable operations may be realized.

  • Patent number: 5149162
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for conveying layers comprising a multitude of individual objects, in particular glasses, cans, etc., preferably for loading and unloading pallets, a suction head being provided for picking up a layer of individual objects, which suction head has a plurality of suction holes. On the one hand, said suction holes face the top side of the objects and, on the other hand, are connected to a source of negative pressure. To avoid a breakdown of the negative pressure as a result of suction holes not being allocated over individual objects, a long flow duct is connected to each suction hole on the side facing away from the individual objects, which flow duct is coupled with the source of negative pressure or the suction chamber.

  • Patent number: 5147173
Abstract: Earthmoving vehicles are often provided with quick coupling devices that allow them to change work implements in a relatively rapid fashion when compared to changing conventionally mounted implements. In most cases, the performance of the work implement is sacrificed to accommodate the ability to change implements quickly. In other cases the level performance is satisfactorily maintained, but the actuation of the coupling mechanism must be done manually or has no ability to accommodate loosening between the coupler and the work implement that can result from normal operation. The coupling device of the present invention allows an operator to change implements from his position within his operating station, yet maintain a structure that will not sacrifice the performance of his work implements through alteration of the linkage arrangement or through the additional weight.

  • Patent number: 5145131
Abstract: A railway track circuit for protection of an extended track block having a master unit at one end of the block and a satellite unit at the other. Each master and satellite unit having transmitting and receiving capabilities. The output impedance of the transmitters or of the receivers is of a low impedance as connected to the rails. Through an alternative transmit and receive sequence a link-up between the master and satellite units provides detection of broken rail and/or shunts from each end of the track circuit. The use of low impedance and detection at both ends of the section permit extended length track circuits.

  • Patent number: 5145313
Abstract: A fluid-powered, laterally tiltable quick disconnect bucket actuator. A bucket has a pair of bucket clevises, and an actuator has a generally cylindrical body with an output shaft rotatably disposed therein with an axis in general parallel alignment with a forward rotation plane through which the bucket is rotatable on a backhoe arm by the operation of a rotation link. A bracket is attached to the body and has a pair of clevises for pivotal attachment to the vehicle arm and rotation link. The output shaft has a pair of shaft attachmetn forks for each end for attaching the shaft to the corresponding bucket clevises. The one pair of shaft attachment forks is attached to and moves axially with a member which is selectively extendable relative to the shaft to move the pair of forks between a locking position holding the bucket and a release position allowing disconnection of the bucket.

  • Patent number: 5143509
Abstract: This invention relates to a process and an apparatus for removing articles from an underlayer with high frictional resistance, especially for removing several layers of cartons with one underlayer each from a pallet. By generating an air cushion at the upper side of the underlayer (19) underneath the articles (cartons 20), the articles (cartons 20), gliding on the air cushion, can then be removed from the underlayer (19) with transverse movement by means of an unloading apparatus (10). It is possible to remove even delicate and flexible packs from an underlayer with high frictional resistance by transverse movement.

  • Patent number: 5143508
Abstract: A cargo carrying vehicle 10 including a body 12, a movable bulkhead 34 mounted in the interior 14 of the body 12 for movement relative to the body 12, and a plurality of inexpensible cables for stabilizing the movable bulkhead 34 against pivotal movement relative to the internal sidewalls 18, 24 of the body 12. A clamp that is movable relative to the movable bulkhead 34 grips and releases one or more of the inextensible cables, driving the movable bulkhead 34 along the inextensible cables in either direction. The clamp also restrains the movable bulkhead 34 against unwanted forward movement due to quick stops and prevents the load from retreating when the movable bulkhead 34 is used in connection with a reciprocating full or partial floor.
