Abstract: A merchandise display and anti-theft system, for use in displaying an electronic device such as a laptop computer, comprising a base plate and a rail. The rail is mounted transversely onto a merchandise display shelf. The electronic device is selectively attached to the base plate by a crossbar. A front bracket assembly and a rear bar are provided to restrict the extent to which the electronic device may be moved in a forward or reverse direction upon the base plate. The crossbar, front bracket, and rear bar are fastened to the base plate with screws extending from beneath the base plate, in order to prevent removal of the electronic device. After mounting the rail to the shelf and affixing the base plate to the rail, the screws which hold the cross bar, rear bar, and front bracket to the base plate are inaccessible, thereby preventing theft of the electronic device selectively affixed to the base plate.

Abstract: An angularly adjustable keyboard support bracket includes a mounting rack attached to a desktop, a movable arm coupled with the mounting rack through a pin, and a bracing rack coupled with another end of the movable arm through another pin for holding a tray. A rotary mechanism is located between the bracing rack and the tray to enable the tray to swivel to the left side and the right side for a selected angle relative to the bracing rack to provide users with a desired operating angle.

Abstract: A device for lifting an item such as an article of furniture to gain access underneath for performing a variety of tasks. The device comprises a horizontal actuating beam attached via a hinge member to one or more horizontal support beams that are affixed to the object frame. The horizontal actuating beam is also connected to the one or more horizontal support beams by one or more biasing members. The horizontal actuating beam includes a pivoting axle at one end that is attached to the one or more horizontal support beams and a wheel at the other end that presses downward on a surface and acts as a support point when the front of the object is raised up off of the surface.

Abstract: A durable sign post assembly is provided with weatherproof sign posts for mounting a laminated sign board. The sign posts are made of a plurality of laminated sheets of a high molecular weight high density polyethylene sheets. An adjustable bracket means is attached inside each sign receiving slot for mounting and supporting the sign between the sign posts.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing an adjustable balancing force are provided. This mechanism can be used as a lifting force, a counter balancing mechanism or as a horizontal or other force mechanism. A stand in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises a first component that is slidingly coupled to a second component. A spring mechanism provides a balancing force between the first component and the second component. In some advantageous embodiments of the present invention, the magnitude of the balancing force is substantially equal to a first load. In some advantageous embodiments, a friction force is provided for resisting relative movement between the first component and the second component.

Abstract: A hanger rod stiffener includes a clamp having two straight, double-ended, spaced, parallel clamp segments and a third clamp segment extending between them. The clamp is positioned over a stiffener member and a hanger rod and the third clamp segment is disposed at an angle to bias the hanger rod to a predetermined position within the clamp when the stiffener member and clamp are brought together.

Abstract: Adjustable holder apparatus for holding a trolling fishing rod in various upright orientations on a boat-mounted track. The apparatus includes a track-mounted base plate, a pivot bracket on the base plate, and a rod holder for detachably mounting and cantilever supporting the rod upright on the holder. A locking gear is fixed to the holder and pivotally secured to the bracket by a pivot pin for supporting the holder on the base plate for pivotal motion of the fishing rod for pivotally raising and lowering the rod. The gear has a circumferentially extending row of locking teeth arrayed in the holder pivot plane. A locking handle mechanism includes a locking pin bodily movable by the mechanism into and out of locking engagement with a selected root space between any two of the locking teeth for adjustably holding said holder in selected angularly spaced positions in the pivot plane.

Abstract: An adjustable support assembly for a data entry/interface device for computers or the like such as a keyboard, keypad, laptop/notebook computer, personal data/digital assistant, tablet PC, trackball or the like provides selective adjustment of both height and angular orientation or tilt for the data entry/interface device with respect to the work surface on which it is mounted. A pair of actuator handles are pivotally mounted in close proximity to one another on a data entry/interface mount to allow either independent or simultaneous operation with one hand by the device operator to control height and/or tilt. The actuator handles are connected to individual adjustment clamp assemblies by separate flexible cable actuators. Depression of each actuator handle pivots at least one clamp bar connected to the cable actuator between clamping and release positions to lock or allow reciprocation of a rigid adjustment bar extending through an aperture in the clamp bar.

Abstract: An adjustment mechanism for a slide of a motor vehicle seat, the adjustment mechanism comprising a worm screw, a first nut and a second nut rotatably receiving the worm screw, a support, and two resilient buffers received respectively between the first nut and the support, and between the second nut and the support. The adjustment mechanism further comprises a band forming a housing for receiving the two nuts and the two buffers and thereby forming a pre-assembled unit prior to being mounted on the support. The first and second nuts have tapped bores which have threads that start at different angular positions, so that screwing the worm screw into the nuts generates a gap between the first and second nuts.

Abstract: In a display apparatus, an adjustable supporting device for supporting a display panel includes a support member having a support portion extending inclinedly from a base portion and formed with an upper pivot end opposite to a lower connecting end, which is connected to a rear end of the base portion, in an upright direction, and a pivot unit that includes a pivot plate disposed to confront a coupling member mounted on the display panel, a first pivot member interconnecting pivotally the coupling member and the pivot plate such that the coupling member is rotatable relative to the pivot plate about a first axis, and a second pivot member interconnecting pivotally the pivot plate and the support portion such that the pivot plate is rotatable relative to the support portion about a second axis transverse to the first axis and the upright direction.

Abstract: A concrete basement stairway is created, by positioning a stairway form 1 between a first pair of concrete receiving foundation channels 9 and a second pair of concrete receiving foundation channels 9a of any size foundation, the stairway form including a single piece stairstep panel 2, coupled by pivotable latching members, between a pair of parallel inner stairway side panels 6 and 6a, the inner stairway side panels configured to permit concrete to flow between the two pairs of concrete receiving foundation channels and spaces beneath the stairstep panel, in a manner forming a series of solidified concrete steps unified, and thus leak proof, with concrete solidified within the concrete receiving foundation channels. The stairway is formed simultaneously with the foundation so that a builder can complete the job without awaiting shipment of a pre-cast stairway requiring returning to the site. Reusable lightweight aluminum forms are employed for easy handling.

Abstract: An Automatic Purchase System (APS) provides a radio broadcast listener with the ability to conveniently purchase media content such as music or speech while listening to the radio. The user can respond to items in the radio broadcast such as advertisements, fund raising drives such as those conducted by public radio, or interactive listener polls during the broadcast. Data such as song title and artist, author or publisher and the IP address for the location where the digital version of the content is stored, can be transmitted using the RBDS/RDS data stream. A reference number representing song title and artist, author or publisher and the IP address for the location where the digital version of the content is stored can also be employed for ease of implementation. This reference number can reside in a lookup table to be accessed by the APS server software on a Data Server located at the broadcast site, a remote site or both for purposes of redundancy.

Abstract: A method and system for determining investor participation driven stock purchase indices. Raw customer trading data is received from an accounting system. The raw customer trading data is then aggregated to generate daily transaction total counts for all stocks (that is, total shares bought and sold, total market value, etc.) as well as daily transaction total counts for each individual stock. Aggregation of the raw customer data also addresses customer privacy concerns. The aggregated data is processed to produce moving averages, stock purchase indices, and stock rankings. The stock purchase indices are based on a diffusion index technique of segregating buyers from sellers, and with these relative counts, measures the breadth of investor purchasing participation. The stock purchase indices are then displayed to a graphical user interface. The display includes stock buy and sell ranking lists.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement in connection with supplementary services provided by different vendors, especially the interaction thereof, which supplementary services comprise appropriate standards and protocols, and for the purpose of giving the user a larger ability to influence the supplementary services in question, as well as improving the possibility for vendors to arrive at general standards which are more easy to interpret and which will reduce or eliminate the need of long interoperability tests, it is according to the present invention suggested to use Java as a new media channel, meaning that the arrangement further comprises means for the user to publish service information, advertisements and options to the remote user.
