    Abstract: A method of detecting a leak in an air trailer brake circuit of a trailer includes providing a controller, a base valve, a first sensor, a second sensor, a leak control valve having a solenoid, a pneumatic fluid supply, a first brake output, and a second brake output. The method further includes supplying a first pressure to an inlet of the base valve and outputting a second pressure from an outlet of the base valve. The first pressure is detected with the first sensor and the second pressure is detected with the second sensor. The method also includes communicating the detected first pressure and the second pressure to the controller, and comparing a difference between first pressure and the second pressure to a threshold. A leak is detected in the air trailer brake circuit if the difference satisfies the threshold.

The primary manifold controls hydraulic fluid flow within the dampener. A diverter valve communicates with the passageways between the dampener and the external reservoir. Hydraulic flow is bi-directional between the primary manifold and the accumulator. Hydraulic fluid flow is restricted when flowing from the primary manifold to the accumulator but is unrestricted when flowing from the accumulator back to the primary manifold and dampener.

The load absorber is cooperable with an actuating member such as a male piston element or a female cup on an opposed subsea body. The load absorber comprises a hollow structure defining an internal flow path for water. A flow restrictor acting on the flow path restricts a distal flow of water along the flow path from a proximal opening, caused by convergence between the actuating member and the load absorber. The flow restrictor comprises a shuttle element to restrict the flow path that is mounted to the structure for automatic movement from a first state to a second state in response to an increase in water pressure at the proximal opening. In the first state, the shuttle element effects greater restriction of the flow path than in the second state.

Each EMAC is electrically coupled to one or more of the actuators so as to provide electrical power for driving the actuators. Each EMAC is also communicatively coupled to the BSCU so as to receive braking data therefrom. In an emergency, the input device sends braking signals directly to the brake actuators.
