  • Patent number: 10356002
Abstract: Each of N sets of memory space bins are associated with a different processing deadline (N is an integer greater than two or one). Messages are received from multiple distinct sources (for example, received at a base station or network interface card from multi-points of a communication system) are stored in one of the memory space bins of the set whose processing deadline corresponds to a transmit deadline of the respective message. In response to a triggering condition for a respective set being satisfied, all the messages stored in any of the bins of the respective set are processed for transmission and the messages that were processed are cleared from their respective bins. In specific embodiments, the triggering condition is expiry of a timer offset ahead of the set's processing deadline, and each set's bin has a different priority and the processing is done in priority order.

  • Patent number: 10313912
Abstract: A system and method for providing an eNodeB with the flexibility to configure a Channel State Information (CSI) report to match a specific Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) transmission hypothesis, which is a candidate for a downlink transmission to a User Equipment (UE) is disclosed. A UE receives, from the eNodeB, a configuration message that specifies a CSI report. The CSI report is specified by a particular interference hypothesis and a particular desired signal hypothesis corresponding to data transmission over at least one effective channel characterized by a specific reference signal. The UE estimates interference according to the interference hypothesis, and/or estimates at least one effective channel by performing measurements on the specific reference signal, and determines a CSI report based on the interference estimation and on the estimated effective channel. The UE also transmits the CSI report to the eNodeB.

  • Patent number: 10284414
Abstract: This invention relates to methods and systems for estimating skew based on, for example, the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP). These methods and systems can allow the clock skew between a master clock (server) and slave clock (client) exchanging PTP messages over a packet network to be estimated more rapidly than conventional estimation techniques and thereby improve the convergence of standard estimation algorithms. In one embodiment, the skew estimation is derived from a set of timestamps from a message exchange between the master and slave using a non-linear least square-fitting algorithm. An example of the fitting algorithm is the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm.
