    Abstract: A turbo-machine is provided having at least one turbo-machine stage, wherein overload protection of the rotating shaft is provided by the method and, to protect the rotating shaft against overload, a measurement of a torsional stress of the rotating shaft is carried out during operation of the rotating shaft. The torsional stress is measured via a measurement of the torque of the rotating shaft. The torque is preferably measured magneto-elastically. By using the measured torque of the rotating shaft, the development of the torque is forecast. On the basis of the forecast produced, the turbo-machine stage or operating parameters of the turbo-machine is/are regulated. Further a turbo-machine is provided comprising at least one turbo-machine stage which has at least one rotating shaft, wherein the turbo-machine has a device for carrying out the method.

The lift modifying device is a part of the trailing edge section of the rotor blade. The lift modifying device is configured such that, at a predetermined loading of the trailing edge section, an air channel opens up a flow path from the pressure side to the suction side and vice versa in the trailing edge section. As a consequence, airflow flowing from the leading edge section of the rotor blade to the trailing edge section is at least partly deflected by the open air channel, which results in a modification of the lift of the rotor blade. A method to modify the lift of a rotor blade of a wind turbine is also provided.

In at least one embodiment, rows (32) of pumping components (26) may be aligned with rows (34) of stator vanes (36) within the compressor (10).
