Abstract: A chair for providing seating support to a user and for providing ways for the user to perform exercises. The chair includes a back support that is flexible such that when a force is applied to it by the user's body, the back support bends. The back support may be configured to adapt to the curvature of the user's spine when the user is seated in the chair. The back support may further be configured such that the user can rotate the back support by rotating the user's upper body.
Abstract: A seat assembly reclines during an under-vehicle explosion or other upward impact on the vehicle to mitigate spinal and lower leg damage to a human occupant. The seat assembly has a back frame portion and a lower frame portion. The lower frame portion has a pivotal connection with an energy absorbing mechanism mounted to the vehicle floor. The pivotal connection includes a stop mechanism to prevent seat assembly tilt during normal vehicle operation but allow tilt due to an explosion. A second mechanism is disposed between the back frame portion and the floor; this mechanism controls the seat assembly pivot and provides further absorbing of energy from the upward impact. Projections from the front of the lower frame portion toward the floor can be used to enhance seat assembly pivoting; specially designed seat engagement levers can be used for this purpose as well.

Abstract: Pertaining to hospital bed, development provides comfortable lavatory services to bedridden patients with mobility difficulties. The novelty introduced here is integration of a hospital bed with a bed-level sliding disposable pan at midsection of the bed to allow patients who endure immobility to perform in-bed toileting with no physical pressure and less psychological challenges while remaining clean and sanitized. This invention would best be useful for hospitals, home health care or other health care facilities and settings.
Abstract: A device consisting of the combination of an outdoor field notebook and flower press having a plurality of pages for writing and a plurality of stock inserts disposed between opposing, bounded covers. The pages are adapted for writing, sketching, and general note-taking. The stock inserts provide a base for pressing organic material specimens there between. The opposing, bound covers include aligning press holes though which mating fasteners are threaded and tightened. The covers serve as the platens between which organic specimens are placed and dried for preservation.
Abstract: A comfort pad having a visco-elastic body encased in a film and fabric adapted to transfer the long term energy distribution properties of the visco-elastic body to the user is provided. A bottom surface of the visco-elastic body may provide frictional resistance so that neither film nor fabric is required, yet the comfort pad may removably secure to a harder structure, providing comfort to the user at this pressure point. The present invention may include an attachment assembly for mechanically and removably attaching the comfort pad between the harder structure and the user.
Abstract: A method of assembling a vehicle seat is provided, comprising: providing a seat back frame; forwardly movably connecting a headrest for supporting a head of a seat occupant to the seat back frame; mounting a rear-end collision detector to the seat back frame at a position behind the seat occupant, operatively connecting the rear-end collision detector to the headrest; disposing a link member at a position lateral to the rear-end collision detector; forming a front extending portion that inwardly extends in a right-to-left direction at a front end of a lateral face of the side frame; and forming a rear extending portion that inwardly extends in the right-to-left direction; wherein a protruding portion is formed from a portion of the lateral face of the side frame that faces at least the part of the bracket, the link support shaft being disposed at a same height as the protruding portion.
Abstract: The curling broom head is composed of a fabric section, flexible section, lower body, upper body, and a stem or stem assembly that is used to attach the broom head to the broom handle. The fabric section is a stand-alone piece of fabric that can easily be removed and replaced by the user. The fabric section is wrapped around the flexible section and lower body and is secured into place and ready for game play when the lower body is attached to the upper body. At any time, the curling fabric may be easily replaced by separating the upper and lower bodies, removing the old fabric from the lower body and replacing it with new fabric. The curling broom handle is an elongated member that is attached to the broom head on one end. A removable device(s) is attached or secured to the broom handle at a desired height and provide an easier profile to grip and/or extra surface area to exert downward force.
Abstract: The present invention is generally related to pillowcases and travel pillows, and more particularly related to one or more embodiments of a pillow wherein the pillowcase (or the travel pillow itself) includes an attached and adjustable eye-covering apparatus for improving a user's sleep by blocking ambient light from reaching the user's eye while the user is utilizing the herein disclosed pillow.
Abstract: A basking platform for reptiles and amphibians, in particular turtles, includes at least one portion of the platform elevated from the water to allow for basking, a floatation device to elevate the platform and ensure stability, at least one ramp partially submerged in the water to allow for reptiles and amphibians to climb on, a textured coating to allow easier grip, and at least one anchor to secure the platform in position.
Abstract: A traveler's personal arm rest device comprises a chest portion and a pair of shoulder straps configured to supportively maintain the chest portion against the anterior side of a wearer's torso. In an embodiment, the chest portion may be securely folded to define a tubular cavity sized to accommodate all of the wearer's arms therein so that such arms may be maintained and comfortably supported by way of the straps in a resting position that is in line with his or her own body. The disclosure may provide a wearer with increased comfort while seated in cramped modes of public transportation and further prevent passive aggressive and even assertive arguments with neighbors regarding available arm resting spaces. Elements enabling compact self-stowage when not in use, providing ergonomic support when worn, and permitting storage of personal belongings therein are also provided.
Abstract: A seat assembly having improved trim appearance is provided as well as a method and mold tool for making the seat assembly. In certain embodiments, the seat assembly has at least one narrow trench having a substantially constant width of up to 5 mm, which provides for better tolerances when installing a trim cover on the cushion and provides improved appearance and comfort. In certain embodiments, the mold tool has at least one tool insert that is configured to create the at least one narrow trench with a substantially constant width in the cushion.

Abstract: A solar shade system includes a first and second canopy assembly that are configured to support a cantilevered beam out from a post. The cantilevered beam is utilized to support a canopy that extends substantially from the first and second canopy assemblies. A post coupler extends between the two posts and an extended end coupler extends between the two extended ends of the cantilevered beams. A canopy has four sides with sleeves configured on each side for receiving a support, such as a post coupler, an extended-end coupler and a canopy cantilever. The solar shade system is quick and easy to assemble.
Abstract: Automatically adjustable seating apparatus are described. The automatically adjustable seating apparatus include first and second seat bottom portions that at least one of which is moveable. The first and/or second seat bottom portions are moveable by automatic adjusters that alter the position of a seat bottom portion between a retracted position and an extended position. When the moveable seat bottom portion or portions are in their retracted position, the automatically adjustable seating apparatus is configured as two seats back-to-back, and when the seat bottom portion or portions are in their extended positions, the automatically adjustable seating apparatus forms a substantially flat surface.

Abstract: The disclosed invention will prevent or lessen injury to passengers when used as a supplemental safety device designed to work in combination with existing safety features found in transport vehicles. Family vans or SUVs have seats that are closest to the bumper that use a separate chassis with no crunch/crumble zones, offering minimal or no protection during rear-end collisions. In 2012 Ford Motor analysis stated, when a minivan with a third-row occupant is hit from behind, the occupant is usually a child, is killed at least half of the time. The disclosed invention will decrease harmful or deadly forces which drive the occupants backwards during rear-end collisions and will change this tragic outcome if the force is diminished by 70%, it may save lives.
Abstract: A Three combination exercise table-chair device intended to reduce the pain and symptoms associated with low back pain & sciatica. This device is designed to be used by qualified operators in physical therapy offices, chiropractic offices, and rehabilitation clinics. By means of electric motors and gearboxes, the operator can adjust a moveable foot pad which raises the lower torso through varying degrees of incline to provide stretching, flexibility and range of motion. These functions are achieved by using three specific exercises of the Williams Exercise Protocol. The Williams Exercise Protocol is a specific set of exercises that are further described in the description of the device.

The device is simple and is made of metal, plastic or other rigid material suitable for its purpose. Configured of one body, this device disappears into the folds of the material and disappears as if it was not even there. It is easy to use and virtually undetected by the wearer.
Abstract: A device for effectively controlling and collecting debris created when cutting or trimming a material. This device includes a hollow generally prismatic and rigid transparent body, an evacuation penetration in the body for the removal of debris, an interface opening in the body where the device is intended to contact a cutting substrate, a tool access penetration in the body where the blade of a cutting tool, such as a jab saw, can be inserted through the body and into the cutting substrate as well as edge protection around the tool access penetration to prevent damage to the device body if contact with the cutting tool is made when in operation. Debris created during the operation of the cutting tool is contained within the device body and evacuated via vacuum through the evacuation penetration.
Abstract: A cat face scratcher and relaxation center. The invention is used for by a pet or cat to scratch their face and claws independently while utilizing an area on the product to relax. The present invention consists of two poles, each in a vertical position that will be attached and secured on a base. The base will also serve as a relaxation lounge area where it will have an appearance of a natural garden and lawn that is attached. The poles will have attached to them the main component which is the face scratcher. There will be multiple face scratchers attached to the poles ranging from top to bottom giving different levels of scratching. To add to the nature feeling of the product, leaves and vines will be wrapped around the poles and also serve as an additional scratcher.
Abstract: An elbow rest is configured to secure at least one of a user's elbow in a retained position while in a seated position. A user can then support their head with their hand or hands without their elbow or elbows slipping, sliding or moving. The elbow rest includes at least one support panel and a flexible strap attached thereto. In one embodiment, an elbow rest has a first and a second support panel with a flexible strap extending therebetween. In this embodiment, a person can rest their right and left elbows on the flexible strap proximal to the opposing support panels. The user can then support their head with both hands. The flexible strap may be detachably attached to the support panel to allow an adjustment of the flexible strap length between the support panels. A flexible strap may include non-slip surfaces to further prevent elbow and/or strap slippage.
Abstract: The welding Wood Creeper Recliner is designed for the welding field, focusing on the overhead welding. This creeper comprise on the frame, the back-receiving and the sitting part which are made of wood allowing the use of the electric equipment without the risk of electrocution as would be with metal material. The frame it is the base of the creeper, the seating-part it is mounted on top of the frame which it is elevated to prevent the user to slide forward and the back-receiving has a reclining mechanic system designed to lounge to seven position depending on height of the project. Additionally this wood creeper has a four caster wheels allowing the user to move without stopping the welding procedure.
