  • Patent number: 11742781
Abstract: An electrostatic chuck solves the problem of wafer sticking by providing conductive paths on raised embossments that are bridged together and are connected to ground that support the wafer substrate above the surface of the electrostatic chuck. Further, laterally spaced electrode patterns and electrode elements which are spaced laterally and longitudinally away from the raised embossments reduce or eliminate electrical coupling during wafer clamping between conductively coated embossments and the electrode elements, thereby creating a low resistance path for charges remaining on the wafer after declamping to promptly travel to ground. The conductive bridge and electrode pattern configuration also substantially reduces or eliminates any charge build up on the conductive bridge(s) during clamping in order that charge build up in “islands” (worn portions of the insulator layer of the main field area) do not affect the charge dissipation from the wafer substrate through the conductive bridges to ground.

  • Patent number: 11736770
Abstract: A consumer electronic device tracks the current channel to which the electronic consumer device is tuned. The consumer electronic device determines an amount of time that the current channel remains unchanged. Based at least in part on this amount of time, the consumer electronic device determines whether the current channel should be stored as a favorite channel. When the consumer electronic device subsequently receives a favorite channel command, the consumer electronic device is caused to tune to the favorite channel that is currently stored in memory. Changing user preferences are thus automatically accommodated without manual intervention, resulting in an effortless user interface.

  • Patent number: 11705713
Abstract: A device is presented for use in power distribution networks, for limiting transient overvoltages during backfeed on a network primary feeder whose feeder breaker is open and whose network protector fails to open. The device is self-contained and self-protecting, and limits the transient voltages due to an arcing single line-to-ground fault by inserting a resistance into the zero-sequence network of the primary feeder. Limiting transient overvoltages reduces damage to and prevents failures of various network components, and in particular, prevents multiple insulation failures during backfeed and reduces failures during backfeed in microprocessor network protector relays on the secondary side of network transformers whose protectors are open. In addition, the device reduces transient overvoltages associated with re-energizing a network primary feeder by closing the station breaker when all network protectors on the feeder are open, as occurs when restoring a network primary feeder that has been out of service.

  • Patent number: 11689012
Abstract: Described are system and method embodiments for shield fault detection to protect the cable, components and other circuits connected to the cable shield, and to avoid high short circuit currents flowing from a power source to ground during unexpected events. A threshold voltage detector and a slope detector may be used to sense the voltage on a shield pin switchably coupled to ground via a shield ground. Method embodiments to distinguish the shield ground switch current caused by a shield fault from normal operation are also discussed. In certain situations, a weak ground path is established first to sense or identify a valid attachment on the cable before establishing a strong ground path. The disclosed embodiments, separately or in combination, may effectively detect shield fault with improved performance.
