  • Patent number: 4395044
Abstract: A board game apparatus is provided in which a playing board has marked spaces defining a playing path. The spaces have assigned values. Penalties and rewards are provided to the players according to their position on the playing path. A first chance member is operable by the players for determining the number of spaces to be traversed by a playing token. A second chance member is associated with one of the spaces. The second chance member comprises an upstanding member defining a plurality of generally vertical apertures. One or more of the apertures are adapted to be plugged and closed, and an insert is receivable in the apertures. A player whose token is moved to the second chance member is required to place one of the inserts into one of the apertures, with at least one of the apertures being closed by one of the plugs. If the insert falls completely through an unplugged aperture, the player is permitted to continue in the game.

  • Patent number: 4394016
Abstract: A game having a first cylinder with an inner helical path and a second cylinder concentric with the first cylinder having a second helical path continuous with the first path. In one embodiment the paths are grooves in the cylinder walls. A ball having a smaller diameter than the groove is attempted to be rolled in the groove using centrifugal force. A hollow handle is attached at the bottom of the cylinder to catch the ball should it fall. In another embodiment the paths are tracks over which passenger vehicles move. The tracks are housed in enlarged cylinders driven by a parabolic lever.

  • Patent number: 4391448
Abstract: A game for two contestants is played on a plane surface or board divided into a plurality of equal-sized squares having midway between the contestants a KETER ZONE comprising two rows of squares over the full width of the board, upon which at the start of the game playing pieces called KETER PAWNS are placed, one on each of the squares in the Keter Zone. Each contestant starts out with a uniquely distinguishable set of FIGHTING PAWNS OFF THE BOARD, equal in number to the number of Keter Pawns. At each contestant's end of the board an area equivalent to several squares is marked off as a HOME BASE; fighting pawns are generated on the board by moving keter pawns to the respective Home Base or by capturing keter pawns on the open board.

  • Patent number: 4391449
Abstract: A board game characterized by a playing surface provided with indicia dividing the surface into 64 squares or spaces, and indicia within each space including a positioning mark and eight directive lines radiating outwardly from the positioning mark. The directive lines are either inverting directives or non-inverting directives. The game also includes disk shaped playing pieces having color or shade differentiated sides. The pieces are placed upon the positioning marks of the playing surface and moved along the directive lines in an attempt to capture or trap the opponent's pieces. Movement along an inverting directive line causes the pieces to be turned over to modify their power to capture opponent's pieces.

  • Patent number: 4385764
Abstract: A game of strategy combining the elements of skill and chance is enacted by two players on a flat, generally square playing surface or board which is divided into a plurality of landing territories. A colored token indicates player movement. A chance device such as a die or dice determines the extent of each move in turn; but the pattern of movement among the territories: i.e. horizontally, vertically or a combination of both, is determined by the player in an exercise of skill with the objective of capturing and occupying territories. A plurality of colored disks are provided each player to indicate a temporarily occupied territory. A plurality of pegs, selectively attached to the colored disks, are used to indicate permanent occupation of territory. The object of the game is to temporarily and/or permanently capture territories in a pattern which will entrap and prevent further movement of the opponent.

  • Patent number: 4385765
Abstract: A solar system conquest game has a game board including a plurality of movement paths that form a first set of concentric circular orbits and a second set of orbits intersecting the circular orbits at pre-selected locations with these orbits defining movement paths for playing pieces corresponding to each player. The intersections define exchange points where pieces may change orbits. A set of cards determines additional pieces to be entered onto the board by a player, and dice determine the number of movement steps to be traversed by a player during his turn, and a second set of dice controls the outcome of a confrontation between playing pieces. The game board may further be divided into a number of sectors, and a set of instruction cards influence events in a particular sector for all players having pieces located therein.

  • Patent number: 4364569
Abstract: A parlor game closely simulating the outdoor game of golf. The game board is a scaled-down plan view of an actual golf course having tees, fairways, rough areas, trouble areas, and greens. The game provides a first series of variables according to the arbitrary choice of each player including club selection and the competence level of play. The game further provides a second series of variables determined by the roll of the dice including troubles encountered hole positions on the greens, and alternate fairway routes on certain fairways. After selecting an appropriate club from a CLUB CARD, a player places his associated game piece, according to the roll of the dice, on the fairway area, rough area, or trouble area. Appropriate indicia marks represent the yardage along the fairway in five yard increments. As play proceeds, the game piece is advanced along the fairway according to the roll of the dice and encounters troubles along the way as determined from the dice and appropriate TROUBLE POSITION CARDS.
