Patent number: 9239237Abstract: A system for quickly aligning a test optic with various components of an optical metrology tool. A collimated target is presented to a beamsplitting reference surface located on a positioning system for holding and manipulating the test optic. Video images of the target and its reflection from the reference surface are displayed for analysis and visualization so that any tilt between the reference surface and the optical axis of the collimated beam can be removed to align the test optic. After alignment, the video based system is used to quickly measure and display in real-time a variety of performance characteristics of optical components such as lenses. The metrology system is under the control of a computer which uses a windowing software program to provide the user with a graphical user interface by which the various components of the system and test lenses may be aligned and characterized.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2014Date of Patent: January 19, 2016Assignee: OPTIKOS CORPORATIONInventor: Daniel Orband

Patent number: 9225962Abstract: Systems and methods may be provided embodying a novel approach to measuring degradation (or distortion) by analyzing disparity maps from original 3D video and reconstructed 3D video. The disparity maps may be derived using a stereo-matching algorithm exploiting 2-view stereo image disparity. An overall distortion measure may also be determined resulting from the weighted sum of plural measures of distortions, one of the plural distortion measures corresponding to a measure of disparity degradation, and another one corresponding to a measure of geometrical distortion. The measure (or overall distortion measure) is used during real-time encoding to effect various decisions, including mode decision in the coding of each corresponding stereo pair, and in rate control (including stereo pair quantization).Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2012Date of Patent: December 29, 2015Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: James Au, Jaehin In, Arturo A. Patent number: 9185392Abstract: A moving object to be subject to 3-dimensional rendering is illuminated by a repeated sequence of a number N different two-dimensional structured light patterns. For each illumination, the illuminated object is captured by two spaced apart cameras, thereby creating a series of pairs of two-dimensional images. A set of N adjacent pairs of the two-dimensional images is used to form a single three-dimensional image frame. A moving window of N adjacent pairs of the two-dimensional images provides a train of such three-dimensional image frames. The object may furthered be illuminated by non-structured light whose captured image reflection may be used as an overlay over the three-dimensional rendered object.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2012Date of Patent: November 10, 2015Assignee: Spatial Integrated Systems, Inc.Inventors: Ping Zhuang, Yunqi Zhang

Patent number: 9160959Abstract: High-quality content reproduction is to be realized. A transmission clock is supplied from a sink (repeater) device to a source device via a clock signal line. The source device sends content data to the sink (repeater) device via a predetermined number of differential signal lines in synchronization with the transmission clock supplied from the sink (repeater) device. High-quality content reproduction can be performed in the sink (repeater) device, without the use of any additional lines other than the differential signal lines and the clock signal line. For example, upon receipt of a transmission clock supply request from the source device, the sink (repeater) device supplies the transmission clock to the source device.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2012Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Kazuaki Toba, Gen Ichimura
