  • Patent number: 6957782
Abstract: An exterior portion of the nozzle with a top side viewable from above the turf or ground surface mates with a base portion of the nozzle to define a nozzle orifice and a flow path leading to the nozzle orifice. The base portion has at least one projection that extends through an aperture in the exterior portion and provides an indication that is visible when viewing the top side and that represents a water distribution pattern and/or flow rate of the nozzle orifice. The exterior portion of the nozzle defines an inner arc section of the nozzle orifice and the base portion of the nozzle defines an outer arc section of the nozzle orifice that is radially spaced from the inner arc section. An improved water distribution pattern is achieved without the spikes and voids associated with conventional spray nozzle orifices.

  • Patent number: 6953159
Abstract: An improved spray through cap assembly (10) comprises separable base (11) and cover parts (13). The base part includes a hollow actuator (17) which is adapted to cooperate with an outlet of an aerosol or the like. The actuator is linked to a fluid flow channel (19) formed by correspond recesses in the base and cover parts, respectively, and a nozzle outlet (20). Depressing the cover part causes the actuator to actuate the outlet and causes the contents of the aerosol to be discharged through the nozzle outlet via the fluid flow channel. In order prevent accidental discharge, in one embodiment, the base part includes a projecting lip (22) and the cover part includes a nose (21), the lip and nose cooperating in an inoperative position to prevent the actuator actuating the outlet. In a further embodiment, the cover part is formed from two separable parts and the fluid flow channel and nozzle outlet are formed by corresponding recesses in the parts of the cover parts.

  • Patent number: 6942128
Abstract: An automatic fertilizer that is designed to be used with a yard/lawn/garden sprinkler system. This unit is placed before the zone valves of the sprinkler system. The unit is designed to disperse fertilizer into a tank chamber below a discharge tray. The fertilizer dissolves in the water and is distributed/dispersed to the appropriate sprinkler system zone. The discharge tray has multiple chambers based on the number of zones in the sprinkler system. The chambers in the discharge tray can hold various capacities based on the area covered by each zone within the sprinkler system. The discharge tray turns to dispense the fertilizer as the sprinkler system changes from zone to zone. The discharge tray is automatically moved. The chambers are manually refilled based on the frequency of yard fertilization. The unit has an access from the top to the discharge tray for filling chambers with fertilizer material.

  • Patent number: 6913208
Abstract: A liquid atomizer includes a main body and an ampoule holder detachably attached to the main body for holding ampoules in an annular formation. The main body has an atomizing part for atomizing the liquid discharged from outlets of the ampoules. The outlet of each of these ampoules can be disposed proximal to the atomizing part by moving the ampoules around the annular formation. Positioning devices are between the main body and the ampoule holder for positioning the ampoule holder properly with respect to the main body. The ampoule holder holds the ampoules such that each of the ampoules can move between an advanced position and a retracted position. The outlet of each ampoule moves into the atomizing part when the ampoule moves to the advanced position. The ampoule holder is able to undergo a rotary motion with respect to the main body when each of the ampoules is at the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 6883729
Abstract: A nebulizer for atomizing a high-temperature liquid includes a truncated, conical concentrator that defines a vertex and that has a small-diameter end and a large-diameter end. The small-diameter end has a spherical-shaped, concave surface and the large-diameter end has a spherical-shaped, convex surface. A piezoelectric transducer has a spherical-shaped, concave surface that is attached to the convex surface of the concentrator. A cylindrical-shaped droplet manifold is positioned over the small-diameter end of the concentrator to create a liquid chamber in the manifold with the vertex inside the liquid chamber. A feeding tube introduces the high-temperature liquid into the liquid chamber until the surface of the liquid reaches the vertex. With an activation of the transducer, acoustic waves that have spherical wavefronts are launched away from the concave surface of the transducer. The concentrator propagates and directs the spherical wavefronts for convergence at the vertex to nebulize the liquid.

  • Patent number: 6860437
Abstract: A jet barrel adapted for use in a spa jet housing having a rotor rotatably supported on a spindle pin aligned along a longitudinal axis in the bore of the jet barrel. The spindle pin is supported at upstream and downstream pivot points. An offset nozzle extends from a conical base of the rotor, an inlet to the rotor being aligned with an outlet from the jet barrel's bore. As water exits the jet barrel bore into the rotor, the rotor and spindle pin are caused to co-rotate. Hard water deposits, sufficient to prevent rotation do not readily build around the pivot points.

  • Patent number: 6827327
Abstract: A flow resistance setting nozzle capable of easily setting a target flow rate is provided. A metallic block has a through-bore through which a flow path forming metallic pipe is inserted. A pressing member in the form of a rectangular cross-section bar abuts the pipe at a first abut portion. An anvil having a distal end with an arcuate surface is mounted to the metallic block such that the distal end abuts the pipe at a second abut portion that is opposite to the first abut portion. A coarse adjustment screw presses a center portion of the pressing member against the pipe to squeeze the pipe between the pressing member and the anvil to form an orifice in the pipe. Two fine adjustment screws impart a force to the pressing member to further squeeze the pipe until the target flow rate is set.
