  • Patent number: 9706430
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for effectively utilizing a Backhaul link shared by two or more wireless system Operators, such that data rates from multiple Core Network data sources to the shared Backhaul link, and data rates from multiple sets of Subscriber Stations to the shared Backhaul link, are controlled so that a combined downlink rate substantially does not exceed a predetermined Backhaul data rate, and a combined uplink rate substantially does not exceed a predetermined Backhaul data rate, thereby preventing an overloading of the shared Backhaul link. Further, communication rates of different data sets within the downstream and upstream, respectively, are dynamically altered to provide best overall service within the downstream and upstream, respectively, while not overloading the shared Backhaul link.

  • Patent number: 9705943
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, an apparatus includes a data server, a VoIP server, and a processing circuit. The VoIP server routes VoIP calls to and from a plurality of telecommunication devices associated with respective user accounts. The VoIP server stores data generated by the plurality of telecommunication devices on the data server. The user accounts each have a settings file associated with the user account. In response to a set of criteria indicated in the settings file of one of the user accounts being satisfied, the processing circuit logs into a data server remote to the VoIP server using login credentials included in the settings file. In further response to the set of criteria being satisfied, the processing circuit copies one or more data files associated with the user account from the data server to the remote data server.

  • Patent number: 9706453
Abstract: A variety of wireless communication methods and apparatus for supporting reconfiguration of radio link control (RLC) parameters are disclosed. A radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message is generated that indicates that an RLC unit in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) or a universal terrestrial radio access network (UTRAN) should be reconfigured from supporting flexible size RLC protocol data units (PDUs) to supporting fixed size RLC PDUs. If an information element (IE) “one sided RLC re-establishment” is present in the RRC reconfiguration message, only a receiving side subassembly in the RLC unit is re-established. Otherwise, both the receiving side subassembly and a transmitting side subassembly in the RLC unit are re-established. Flexible size RLC PDUs may be discarded and a message indicating the discarded flexible size RLC PDUs may be transmitted. The flexible size RLC PDUs may be modified such that they correspond to a set of pre-defined sizes.

  • Patent number: 9699775
Abstract: Data transmission and reception is provided by configuring control channels in a wireless communication system using a plurality of carriers. User equipment (UE) may monitor physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates within common search spaces (CSSs) and User Equipment-specific search spaces (USSs). If the UE is configured with cross-carrier scheduling, when two PDCCH candidates originating from a CSS and a USS, respectively, have cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by the same Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) and have a common payload size and the same first control channel element (CCE) index, the UE may interpret that only the PDCCH originating from the CSS is transmitted, thereby solving ambiguity of downlink control information (DCI) detection.

  • Patent number: 9686186
Abstract: A network device receives packets for one or more traffic flows to be sent into a network. The network device computes a flow identifier for each of the one or more traffic flows based on information contained in one or more headers of the packets for each of the one or more traffic flows and based on at least one value that is changed on an ongoing basis. The packets for each of the one or more traffic flows are encrypted to produce encrypted packets for each of the one or more traffic flows. An encapsulation is added to the encrypted packets for the one or more traffic flows. The flow identifier is included in a field of the encapsulation for a corresponding traffic flow.

  • Patent number: 9686810
Abstract: A machine management system provides a system and method for communicating user data with a device connected to a network. The device may register for service by the network, causing the machine management system to establish a special communications path through the network when it is determined that the device is a machine device. Thereafter, user data transmitted by the machine device (or transmitted to the machine device) may be communicated using the special communications path. In certain embodiments, the special communications path may be established such that existing network elements are not involved in the transmission of communications with the machine devices, thereby minimizing the impact on implementing the system and method on existing network elements, alleviating the burden of serving these machine devices using existing network elements and permitting the implementation of device-specific services for machine devices.

  • Patent number: 9667529
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method configures a network to route data on a first network service that connects a user's network with a service provider network. In the method, an instruction to route data from the network addressed to a hostname on the first network service is received, According to the hostname, a first IP address that addresses a server identified by the hostname is determined. A second IP address is also determined as the second IP address of the specific network service. Finally, a message is sent to the user's network that specifically instructs the user's network to route data addressed to the first IP address to the second IP address. The message causes configuration of a router on the user's network to route data on the first network service. System and computer program product embodiments are also disclosed.
