    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a wireless device that communicates with another wireless device utilizing self-contained subframes. The wireless device communicates with a scheduling entity utilizing a plurality of self-contained subframes that include a first subframe and a second subframe. Each of the self-contained subframes includes an uplink (UL) portion and a downlink (DL) portion. The wireless device further receives DL control information from the scheduling entity in the DL portion of the first subframe, and transmits UL data that includes a plurality of reference signal bursts to the scheduling entity in the UL portion of the first subframe. The plurality of reference signal bursts are uniformly spaced in at least a portion of the UL portion of the first subframe.

First interconnects each extend to couple both to a corresponding one of the PHY circuits and to a corresponding one of the first routers. For each of one or more of the first interconnects, a respective one or more rows (or one or more columns) of the array configuration extend between the corresponding PHY and the corresponding router. In another embodiment, the network circuitry comprises network clusters which each include a different respective row of the array configuration.

A base station is configured to transmit data to a mobile station according to a first configuration of two or more component carriers, to determine that a change of configuration to a second component carrier configuration is required, and to signal the change of configuration to the mobile station, using the first configuration of component carriers. The base station then refrains from transmitting data to the mobile station during a pre-determined guard interval of at least one transmission-time interval subsequent to the signaling of the change of configuration.

Based on the mapping, the base station transmits the predetermined signal on only the N frequency band partitions, followed by a downlink signal during a transmission opportunity (TXOP). The UE cycles through the M frequency band partitions while monitoring for the predetermined signal according to the monitoring schedule, detects the predetermined signal on only the integer N frequency band partitions, and tunes to receive the downlink signal during the TXOP.
