  • Patent number: 5158198
Abstract: A dumpster bin for use in collecting and storing refuse is disclosed which has first and second folding top cover doors which may be operated in a manner allowing the top of the dumpster bin to be fully opened. The first and second top cover doors are hingedly connected together, with the first top cover door also being hingedly attached at the side thereof to the top of the dumpster bin at one side thereof. A hand winch is used to actuate a pivot arm assembly mounted on the end of the first top cover door, with the pivot arm opening the first top cover door, which in turn draws the second top cover door up close to it, thereby fully opening the top of the dumpster bin.

  • Patent number: 5158200
Abstract: A tank connector construction for a tank. The tank is comprised of an outer shell of metal material and an inner shell of non-corrosive and non-metallic material mounted inside the outer shell. A metal connector fitting is provided which has an internal threaded body portion, an internal groove and a weld projection portion on the inner end thereof. The weld projection portion of the fitting is welded to the outer shell of the tank. A sleeve member of non-corrosive and non-metallic material is mounted in the internal groove of the connector fitting. An extension portion of non-corrosive and non-metallic material is formed integrally with the inner shell of the tank and is fused to the material of the sleeve to prevent contact between the contents of the tank and the outer shell of the tank. The extension portion of non-corrosive and non-metallic material has a threaded portion which forms a continuation of the internal threaded body portion of the metal connector fitting.

  • Patent number: 5156291
Abstract: The invention in its simplest form comprises a hinged cover for a fish receiving receptacle and the cover has a passage passing through the cover into which a frame containing a resiliently biased auxiliary door is secured. The bias urges the door against a stop which holds the door in the closed position so that the door may be opened in the inward direction by overcoming the biasing force. The stop is movable so that when the stop is disengaged from the door the bias will serve to hold the door in the open outward position.

  • Patent number: 5156290
Abstract: A container (11) for rubbish having an enclosed compartment (14) an inlet passageway formed within the walls (17) and (19) of the compartment (14), a closure (15) and an outlet passageway integrally formed within the inner and outer walls (41) and (43) of the closure (15). The inlet and outlet passageway insulate the interior of the compartment (14) by incorporating cavities (21) and (45) and are particularly arranged to produce convection current airflow whereby the inlet passageway directs ambient air from an entry port (31) externally of the compartment in an involuted manner through the walls of the compartment to a point marginally above the inner base of the compartment (14) and the outlet passageway extracts heated air from the top of the compartment interior through the entry port (47) of the closure and out through the annular exit port (49) thereof.

  • Patent number: 5156292
Abstract: An airtight canister including (a) a ceramic container having an open top, a bottom and an annular groove adjacent to the bottom; (b) an acrylic cover having an annular rim; (c) an annular rubber gasket wrapped on the annular rim of the cover; (d) an elongated elastic cord having two ends; (e) a wave shaped hook linked to said cord between the two ends; and (f) a generally ".pi."-shaped connecting member connected between the two ends of said cord and said cover; (g) so that when the cover is placed onto the open top of the container and the hook is retained by the annular groove adjacent to the bottom of the container, the tension of the elastic cord will maintain a pressure on the cover through the connecting member, which in turn creates an airtight coverage with the help of the gasket.

  • Patent number: 5154302
Abstract: An open top container having at least one side wall constructed of vertically disposed panels having horizontally extending corrugations or ribs lending beam and column strength to the side wall panels. The panels of that side wall can have an interconnecting slip joint permitting limited horizontal movement between the panels. One or more of the side posts of at least that side wall can have inner and outer sleeved sections permitting vertical movement of the bottom end relative to the top end while restricting horizontal movement and forces. The side post vertical movement permits the transference of portions of the vertical, load imposed forces from the top rail to the corrugated ribs of the side wall panels. The composite beam consisting of the top rail, bottom rail, corrugated panels and side post can be prestressed for additional advantages. Also, both walls of a rectangular container for maximum advantage should include the horizontal corrugations and the sleeved side post.

  • Patent number: 5154294
Abstract: A videocassette overlay tray comprised of a sturdy plastic composition which is inexpensive and improves sorting and storage functions of videocassettes in the duplication and manufacturing environment. The videocassette tray permits the storage of a large number of videocassettes before or after the duplication process, and the walls and recesses of the overlay tray are constructed so that the trays may be stacked one upon another in interfitting relationship with the tray fully retaining and protecting the videocassettes placed in fixed positions within the tray below. The trays are further constructed whereby each recess helps form a support apex, thus allowing a tray when full to be stacked one on top of another while resting on a storage platform or cart, and also is capable of being nested when empty in one of two possible nesting configurations.
