Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and storage media associated with compaction of data from one or more computing devices are disclosed. In various embodiments, one or more Internet of Things (IoT) devices may transmit information to a computing system. The computing system may group together raw data received from these one or more IoT devices based on a shared attribute. The computing system may select a compaction scheme to represent the knowledge conveyed by a group of the raw data. The computing system may apply this compaction scheme to the group of raw data to generate data that is representative of the group of raw data. Other embodiments may be disclosed or claimed.

Abstract: Disclosed are a reliability evaluation system for multi-state flow network and a method thereof. The system includes an element-gaining module and a reliability calculation module. The method includes using a GCF calculating means to calculate an initial reliability according a first and second system-state vector, comparing values of all elements in a set being composed of elements of a second grade of a third system-state vector, excluding an element with a greater value and other related thereof in all grades in the third system-state vector when only one element in the set except the element with greater values so as to obtain remaining elements, using the GCF calculating means to perform the calculation of the remaining element to obtain a calculation results, and summing the initial reliability and the calculation results so as to obtain a reliability of the multi-state flow network.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system provides for end-user control over the automatic recognition of communication situations by detection of unique telecommunication event characteristics and the consequential responses to those situations by invocation of related programmatic responses. The system allows an end user to specify various patterns of telecommunication event characteristics that describe various situational aspects of incoming communications, such as the timing and originator of voice calls, the content of, timing of, and author of chat messages, etc., as well as appropriate sets of programmatic response actions to be performed in response to those communications, such as initiating conference calls, sending chat messages, routing calls to other users, etc.

Abstract: A chat-based communication capability is presented. In at least some embodiments, a chat-based communication capability utilizes a chat-based communication paradigm to support one or more communication interaction types not typically supported by chat-based communication paradigms. In at least some embodiments, a chat-based communication capability supports chat-based communication between a human entity and a non-human entity (e.g., a device, a program, a process, an organization, or the like). In at least some embodiments, a chat-based communication capability supports chat-based communication between multiple non-human entities (e.g., where the non-human entities may include devices, programs, processes, organizations, or the like).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating recipes having platform-independent, resource-agnostic commands for performing work in a cloud computing platform. One of the systems includes a plurality of executors, each executor being operable to receive a recipe comprising one or more platform independent, resource agnostic commands, each command corresponding to a requested service to be performed by an execution engine on an underlying computing platform, translate each platform independent, resource agnostic command of the recipe into one or more platform independent, resource specific requests that satisfy the requested service on the underlying computing platform and make each of the one or more platform independent, resource specific requests to one of the one or more execution engines using a platform independent execution engine application programming interface (API).

Abstract: A method for generating a graph segment providing a gist or summary of an online social network conversation may include generating a graph of the online social network conversation. The graph of the online social network conversation may include a plurality of nodes and each node may be connected to at least one other node by an edge. Each node may represent a message of the online social network conversation and each edge may correspond to an action by a participant in the online social network conversation. The method may also include determining an edge weight for each edge and analyzing the graph of the online social network conversation using at least the edge weight of at least some edges. The method may additionally include generating a graph segment that provides a gist or summary of the online social network conversation based on the analysis.

Abstract: A method of managing servers includes at a central server having one or more processors and memory for storing one or more programs to be executed by the processors: obtaining configuration file for clustering servers; classifying each server into one layer of a hierarchical structure based on business logic associated with the server defined in the configuration file; receiving an operation command from an administrator; analyzing the operation command to identify a target server for executing the operation command; and forwarding the operation command to the target server through a path in the hierarchical structure defined in the operation command.

Abstract: Embodiments relate systems and methods for detecting network conditions based on a correlation between trend lines. In embodiments, a network management server can monitor the status and operation of network machines, such as servers or targets, as well as network transmission hardware (e.g. routers). Streams of network operation data from those sources can be captured and stored. The management server or other logic can examine the network operation data to identify trend lines for network conditions, such as application faults, attempted intrusions, or other events or conditions. Trend line data can be treated to generate second or other higher-order derivatives, such as third-order derivatives or others. A time correlation between two or more trend lines and/or their higher order derivatives, for instance, the occurrence of a peak value in the same time window, can be used to identify an event, state or condition.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and software for providing enhanced reliability for web services. In an implementation, a proxy service supports web services provided by a client application to at least an online service. While the client application is temporarily disconnected from the proxy service, the proxy service monitors for web services activity to occur in association with the web services provided by the client application to at least the online service. In response to the client application reconnecting to the proxy service after having been temporarily disconnected from the proxy service, the proxy service communicates activity information to the client application indicative at least of whether or not to query the online service with respect to the web services activity.

Abstract: Technologies are presented for providing a suggestion list presenting options for posting information related to viewed content on a communication network. In some examples, a user may desire to contribute to posted content by adding comments and other relevant information. A system may identify one or more key terms included in the viewed content, and may compare the key terms with content, such as files, emails, websites, images and media content, on computing devices and web browser histories associated with the user to identify information that may be related to the viewed content. If the system identifies information related to the key terms of the viewed content, the system may present the identified information associated with key terms to the user, and may enable selection from a posting suggestion list for automatically posting.
