Abstract: In a general aspect, a cloud-based control platform remotely controls variable settings on a remotely-controlled system. In some aspects, the platform maintains a database of data objects for assets, and the data objects include static and dynamic hyperparameters associated with the asset and a template that specifies values of a variable associated with the asset for future time points. The platform updates a template for a data object by calculating target values for the variable for the future time points based on a target criterion, communicating with remote computer systems to determine current values of the dynamic hyperparameters, calculating scaled values for the future time points by applying a determined ratio to the target values, adjusting the scaled values based on the static hyperparameters, applying an override value to the adjusted scaled values. The remotely-controlled system is updated according to the updated template at each of the future time points.

Abstract: A sales person at a retail store which traditionally does not sell paint assists a consumer in selecting and purchasing a non-paint product and thereafter employs a computer terminal and display in conjunction with a website operated by a paint manufacturer to provide a paint color recommendation to the consumer. The sales person may thereafter respond to consumer selection of a particular paint color by employing an on-line electronic ordering tool to transmit a paint order to an order processing terminal located at a paint manufacturer facility. Thereafter, the paint manufacturer may proceed to process the order, perform tinting and shaking steps to formulate paint of the particular color, package the tinted paint, and cause the packaged paint to be shipped to the consumer.

Abstract: A prediction engine may use the user behavior data of a user as collected by user devices to assist the user with obtaining products and services. The prediction engine may predict that a user desires to obtain a product or a service from a vendor based on user behavior data collected by applications on one or more user devices. The collected user behavior data may include a conversation of the user with one or more other persons. The prediction engine may trigger an application on a user device to prompt the user to confirm that the user requests to proceed with obtain the product or the service from the vendor. The prediction engine may notify the vendor to provide the product or the service to the user in response to receiving a confirmation from the user that the user requests to proceed with obtaining the product or the service.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a visual cable builder, and accompanying systems, methods, and computer programs. Specifically, a plurality of selectable characteristics of a cable component are displayed to a user. A user selection is received of various selectable characteristic(s) of a cable component. Respective display element(s) associated with the user selection of the selectable characteristic(s) are retrieved. The display element(s) are displayed to the user as part of a configured communications cable. In some embodiments, a part number may also be displayed, the part number being generated based on the selected characteristic(s) of the configured communications cable. An alias part number may also be inputted by the user, which may then be associated with the configured communications cable.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for inventory management. In use, at least one order associated with a customer is identified, the order including an order of at least one service. Additionally, the at least one order is decomposed into one or more elements. Further, an infrastructure inventory layer is queried for the one or more elements. In addition, the one or more elements are allocated to the customer and the elements are marked as allocated in a local inventory repository. Furthermore, a service inventory layer is updated based on the allocation of the elements.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a digital cart management system for use by customers within a retail location. In use, a customer shops within a retail location and adds items to a digital cart as the customer is adding the items to a physical cart, e.g., at least in part by voice input. When the customer is finished shopping, the customer can checkout via a digital process, thereby bypassing point of sale devices at the retail location.

Abstract: A system is provided and generally includes a server (e.g., application server), an associate computing device, and a client computing device. The server can receive a user arrival notification that indicates a user has arrived to pick up purchased goods. The server can transmit a scan initiation request to a remote terminal that causes the remote terminal to scan at least one network. The server can receive scan data for the scanned network from the remote terminal indicating, for example, a signal strength of that network. The server can determine a current wait time based on the received scan data for the scanned network, and can transmit the current wait time to the remote terminal.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for recommending hardware configuration changes using a user satisfaction rating. One method comprises obtaining usage data indicating user activity for users on computing devices; generating a user profile for each user; clustering the users into user clusters based on the user profiles; determining, for a given user cluster, a satisfaction score for each user in the given user cluster based on the obtained usage data for each user on the computing device; providing suggested hardware upgrades for the computing device of a given user in the given user cluster, wherein the given user is selected based on a lower corresponding satisfaction score relative to the satisfaction scores of other users in the given cluster, and wherein the one or more suggested hardware upgrades are based on hardware configurations of other users in the given cluster having a higher corresponding satisfaction score.

The online concierge system calculates an overall streak distribution based on the user streaks. For each item of at least a subset of the plurality of items, the online concierge system calculates a streak statistic based on a corresponding subset of user streaks and the overall streak distribution. The online concierge system selects a set of staples items for a user based on the streak statistics for the set of staple items and generates a display for the user with a selectable list of the set of staple items.

Abstract: An augmented reality-based lighting design method includes displaying, by an augmented reality device, a real-time image of a target physical area on a display screen. The method further includes displaying, by the augmented reality device, a lighting fixture 3-D model on the display screen in response to a user input, where the lighting fixture 3-D model is overlaid on the real-time image of the target physical area. The method also includes generating, by the augmented reality device, a bill of materials (BOM) that includes a lighting fixture corresponding to the lighting fixture 3-D model.

Abstract: An electronic transmission method, device and system, and computer readable storage medium are provided. The electronic transmission method includes: receiving a first instruction for a target electronic file; after receiving the first instruction, dispatching the target electronic file from a first storage location on which it is stored currently to a second storage location, the network connectivity between the second storage location and a target terminal being better than the network connectivity between the first storage location and the target terminal; after receiving a second instruction for the target electronic file, transmitting the target electronic file from the second storage location to the target terminal. This method ensures that it will not be difficult for the target terminal to acquire the target electronic file in time due to poor network connectivity, which in turn improves the online transaction efficiency of electronic files.

Abstract: A vehicle is detected at a drive thru terminal and an automated voice-based dialogue is established with a user in the vehicle and the terminal. An order is placed for a transaction using natural-language speech. The automated voice-based dialogue identifies commands, nouns associated with menu items, adjectives associated with modifying the menu items, prepositions associated with modifying the menu items, and exclamations associated with confirming the order and associated menu items. The automated speech is identified and processed based on a specific lexicon associated with a specific type of restaurant. The speech is translated into actions processed through an ordering system/interface as text-based instructions. Feedback for the order and guidance during the order are provided to the user through: speech played over a speaker associated with the terminal, text displayed on a display, and/or images associated with the ordered items.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and system of presenting content on a display of a computing device is provided. Historical data including data of a plurality of customers and data of a plurality of products is received. A hybrid graph is created. The hybrid graph includes one or more customer nodes and product nodes. Between each two customers, a customer weight factor is applied. Between each two products, a product weight factor is applied. One or more products related to a seed product are identified. For each identified related product, a return affinity score towards the requestor customer is determined. A representation of the related products is sent to be displayed on the computing device of the requestor customer, based on the affinity score.

Abstract: A computing device obtains a digital image of a color calibration target for a product; obtains product information for the product; determines image adjustment information based on the digital image of the color calibration target; obtains a digital image of the product based on the image adjustment information; and transmits the image data of the product and the product information to a backend product computer system. Obtaining the product information for the product may include scanning a graphical code, such as a QR code or a bar code, or obtaining information from the product via short-range radio-frequency communication. The method may further include receiving a response from the backend product computer system, which may include additional product information. The color calibration target and encoded product information may be included in a QR code having three or more color regions.
