  • Patent number: 10920768
Abstract: The performance of a solenoid drive liquid pump can be very dependent on the magnitude and stability of an input voltage, with non-ideal input power resulting in loss of efficiency and potential damage to the pump. Pulse width of drive signals provided to the pump, which cause solenoids to alternately energize to move liquid through the pump, may be adjusted in duration in order to compensate for non-ideal input voltage. A drive control module of the pump gathers voltage information, determines an improved pulse width based upon that voltage information, and then provides drive signals based upon the improved pulse width. Operating in this manner, a pump can operate at or near peak efficiency despite both significant variances in input voltage and non-sinusoidal input voltage, and without customized components or adapters.

  • Patent number: 10865812
Abstract: In a hydraulic control device, when it is detected that a pressure of first oil (output pressure) detected by an output pressure sensor pulsates, a transmission control unit as a TCU stops driving of a second pump or decreases a rotation number of the second pump as a first operation. Alternatively, when it is detected that the output pressure pulsates, the TCU increases the rotation number of the second pump to a rotation number (for example, maximum rotation number) that is higher than a target rotation number as a second operation.

  • Patent number: 10808688
Abstract: High pressure pumps and associated check valves for use with, e.g., waterjet systems, are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, high pressure pumps configured in accordance with the present disclosure include check valve assemblies that eliminate threaded parts for restricting the motion of check valve components which are subjected to very high pressure variations at relatively high frequencies. Additionally, embodiments of the pumps described herein can include unitary structures that integrate the individual parts associated with multiple cylinders (e.g., cylinders, check valve bodies, etc.) into a single part (e.g., a cylinder manifold, check valve manifold, outlet manifold, etc.) that can substantially reduce the number of different parts required to assemble the pump.

  • Patent number: 10788029
Abstract: A system includes, in an exemplary embodiment, a hydraulic cylinder having a barrel, a piston connected to a rod string of the rod pump, and a pressure chamber; a reversible hydraulic pump connected to the pressure chamber; and a motor-generator having a rotor shaft connected to a coupling shaft of the pump. The motor-generator operates in a motor mode to rotate the rotor and coupling shafts in a forward direction so that the hydraulic pump pumps hydraulic fluid to the pressure chamber to raise the piston and rod string in an upstroke, and operates in a generator mode in which a weight of the rod string displaces the piston in a downstroke to pump hydraulic fluid from the pressure chamber to rotate the pump coupling shaft and the rotor shaft in a reverse direction such that the motor-generator generates electricity. A variable speed drive modulates the speed of the motor-generator.
