Anti-rust coatings on the outer surfaces of the connecting tubes can be prevented from being worn and water can be sealed out of the tubes of the upper frame.

This causes the laser diode to initially turn on at a larger inductor current, which will reduce the rise time, thereby achieving higher power/shorter pulses.
