    Abstract: Urinal mat having a flexible, gridded, porous top layer, a disposable, highly liquid-absorbent pad or pad-type middle layer, and an effectively waterproof bottom layer, heavy enough to stay in place without adhesives, and thin enough, with tapered sides, to avoid being a tripping hazard. The top layer fits within a recess in the bottom layer and interlockingly attaches to the bottom layer, with the pad in-between. The interlocking attachment is accomplished by the fitting of horizontal protrusions on the perimeter of the top layer fitting into corresponding peripheral recesses in the bottom layer, and provides a smooth level horizontal top surface of the mat.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a heat recovery unit to transfer heat from a gray water source discharged from a bath or a shower to preheat fresh cold water supplying a bath, a shower, a boiler system or hot water heater. The heat recovery unit comprises an inner tube, an outer tube, a non-return valve, an anode, as well as associated piping and fittings. Fresh water from a pressurized public network or well flows through the inner tube while the gray water flows between the inner and outer tubes. The non-return valve installed in the fresh water pipe prevents contamination of the drinking water system. A translucent pipe may be installed in a section of the gray water piping system to detect any leaks. An insulated jacket may be placed around the unit to reduce heat loss. The heat recovery unit may be used in domestic, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.

    Abstract: A higher-order-mode (HOM) fiber of a fiber laser has step index and guidance diameter (GD) defining wavelength-dependent dispersion characteristics and effective areas for corresponding HOMS of optical signal propagation. One HOM has anomalous dispersion and effective area defining a first wavelength and first power of a pulse optical signal for conversion to a second wavelength and second power by soliton self-frequency shifting (SSFS). By controlling step index and GD, the dispersion and effective area of a HOM are adjusted to bring the second wavelength into a desired range, enabling applications requiring non-conventional fiber laser wavelengths. HOMS may share a predetermined group index and group velocity at wavelengths established by a Raman gain peak to effect wavelength conversion by interpulse and intermodal Raman scattering, which may occur in a cascaded fashion to yield multicolor lasers with desired wavelengths, pulse energies and pulse widths.

When the toilet discharges sewage, the electronic control assembly automatically cuts a power supply, and the exhaust electric motor stops working, and the U-shaped trap water loses the pressure to block gas return.
