  • Patent number: 10129483
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for implementing a camera device including multiple camera modules and which supports zoom operations are described. A plurality of moveable camera modules are included with the position of the moveable camera modules being controlled as a function of a zoom setting. One or more fixed camera modules are also included to facilitate image combining. A fixed camera module having a smaller focal length than the movable camera modules is used in some embodiments to capture a scene area including scene area portions which will be captured by movable camera modules. The image captured by the fixed camera module, with the small focal length, is used in aligning images captured by the movable camera modules during generation of a composite image. The camera may also include another fixed camera module, e.g., having the same focal length as the movable camera modules, for capturing the center of a scene.

  • Patent number: 10109037
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an imaging device and a method of scaling a Bayer domain image. In an example imaging device and method of processing an image represented in a Bayer domain, a block of the image is divided along a diagonal line to form two triangular portions of the block of the image. An upper green pixel for a scaled down image is determined based on either an average of green pixels in a first one of the two triangular portions or an average of an upper group of green pixels located along the diagonal line. A lower green pixel for the scaled down image is determined based on either an average of green pixels in a second one of the two triangular portions or an average of a lower group of green pixels located along the diagonal line.

  • Patent number: 10104318
Abstract: A pixel array within an integrated-circuit image sensor is exposed to light representative of a scene during a first frame interval and then oversampled a first number of times within the first frame interval to generate a corresponding first number of frames of image data from which a first output image may be constructed. One or more of the first number of frames of image data are evaluated to determine whether a range of luminances in the scene warrants adjustment of an oversampling factor from the first number to a second number, if so, the oversampling factor is adjusted such that the pixel array is oversampled the second number of times within a second frame interval to generate a corresponding second number of frames of image data from which a second output image may be constructed.

  • Patent number: 10104319
Abstract: In association with an imaging device which generates a portion of an image from a plurality of channels within a first row by sampling each channel during a sampling time corresponding to the channel, circuitry offsets sampling times of at least first and second channels within the first row, thereby reducing noise correlation between the first and second channels in the first row. Pixel sampling times may be defined by start times of the channels within a row, end times or both. Offsetting may be accomplished using a predetermined set of sampling time values or by randomizing sampling time values. Offsetting pixel sampling times of channels within a row relative to each other decorrelates channel sampling because different phases of the noise signal are sampled on each channel, effectively blurring or dithering the channel noise within each row. Random sampling within the channel, such as by varying a channel sampling time between rows, further dithers the noise within each channel.

  • Patent number: 10104278
Abstract: In an aspect of the present invention, assignment and a rotation direction of a pan motor and a tilt motor of each key of a cross key are set on the basis of the installation posture of the camera. Accordingly, it is possible to operate the cross key without discomfort when the camera is caused to perform a pan operation or a tilt operation using the cross key. Further, if the camera is caused to perform the pan operation using the cross key and a specific condition under which a video rotates is discriminated from a tilt angle, a display of a corresponding icon of the cross key is switched from a first icon indicating an up and down direction or a left and right direction to a second icon indicating a rotation direction. Accordingly, it is possible not to cause discomfort even when a video rotates.
