Abstract: This invention relates to a thermoplastic elastomer composition which includes and comprises 10 to 60 parts by weight of a polyolefin (A), 30 to 87 parts by weight of a crosslinked rubber (B), 3 to 50 parts by weight of a softening agent (C) [the total amount of (A), (B) and (C) being 100 parts by weight] and 0.02 to 0.3 part by weight of a phenolic heat stabilizer (D) and which retains an elongation value at break by 80% or more, after aging for 500 hours in an air oven of 130° C., of the value before the aging; and relates to a manufacturing method thereof.
Abstract: This invention relates to a composition for repairing metallic articles which in its initial state is in the form of an adhesive, self-supporting putty, capable of being molded including 5-15% by weight of a sacrificial binder containing at least one acrylic resin and volatile solvent. The invention also relates to a kit for the composition and methods for repair.
Abstract: Propylene polymer compositions of the present invention comprising a specific propylene block copolymer, specific ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber, specific ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer rubber, specific ethylene-butene-1 copolymer rubber, and talc in specific proportions are provided. The propylene polymer compositions of the invention are capable of providing therefrom molded products excellent in balance between stiffness and impact resistance, and having high surface hardness with excellent scratch resistance.

Abstract: A polymer blend comprising: a) a linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon; b) a reinforcement material; and c) a thermoplastic polyurethane polymer. This polymer blend has and exhibits a good overall balance of physical properties including improved stiffness and heat resistance, and impact resistance and elongation at break over that of a polymer containing glass fibers alone. A process of preparing the polymer blend and articles of manufacture produced from the composition are also disclosed.
Abstract: A glass filled copolyether-polyester resin composition is provided exhibiting improved tensile and flexural strength as well as high impact strength. The improved properties are obtained by employing a glass fiber reinforcing agent comprising an epoxy functional cyanurate or isocyanurate. The compositions are useful for making molded fiber reinforced thermoplastic articles.
Abstract: A composition stabilized against thermal crosslinking and consequent reduction of its melt index, comprising a uniform dispersion of antimony oxide in a blend of a matrix polymer which is a dipolymer of ethylene with an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid or a terpolymer of ethylene with an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and with another ethylenically unsaturated comonomer, carbon dioxide or sulfur dioxide; an organo-halogen fire-retardant; and a stabilizing polymer which is a high melt index copolymer of ethylene with acrylic or methacrylic acid. Such compositions are useful as adhesive layers in laminates used in packaging and building construction.
Abstract: A pigment dispersant that is useful in a cathodic electrocoating composition is prepared by bringing into contact compound (i), an alkylene carbonate, with a compound (ii) of the structure: ##STR1## where R is and alkyl group having 8-24 carbon atoms, and bringing the resulting reaction product of (i) and (ii) into contact with a half blocked organic diisocyanate; this pigment dispersant has an advantage of allowing for the maximization of pigment to binder ratios and the minimization of volatile organic content (VOC) in electrocoating compositions.
Abstract: Aqueous dispersions of copolymers and/or graft copolymers composed of ethylenically unsaturated perfluoroalkyl monomers and perfluoroalkyl-free ethylenically unsaturated monomers can be prepared by polymerization in the presence of aqueous, emulsifier-free polyurethane dispersions as the graft base based on compounds containing perfluoroalkyl groups and active hydrogen atoms and compounds containing ionic and/or nonionic hydrophilic groups and active hydrogen atoms and polyisocyanates and can be used for the oil-repellent and water-repellent finishing of textiles, carpets, leather and paper.
