Abstract: Systems and methods for reconstructing unified data in an electronic storage network are provided which may include the identification and use of metadata stored centrally within the system. The metadata may be generated by a group of storage operation cells during storage operations within the network. The unified metadata is used to reconstruct data throughout the storage operation cells that may be missing, deleted or corrupt.

The receiving means receives data transmitted from a client computer to one of plural server computers. The discriminating means extracts destination information and source information from the received data. The destination information is information on the one of the plural server computers. The source information is information on the client computer. The data retriever determining means determines a data retriever in accordance with the extracted information. The data retriever searches the one of the plural server computers. The transmitting means transmits the data together with the destination information and the source information to the determined data retriever.

Abstract: The automatic transmission of communications between a mobile device and a social networking system is regulated based on the communication mode of the mobile device. A communication for transmission between the mobile device and the social networking system is detected. A communication switch setting, such as a switch position, is determined for the mobile device. A communication mode for the mobile device is determined based on the communication switch setting. For example, if the switch is in a first position, the mobile device is determined to be in a social mode. Likewise, if the switch is in a second position, the mobile device is determined to be a manual mode. If the mobile device is in the social mode, the communication is automatically transmitted. If the mobile device is in the manual mode, the communication is transmitted only in response to authorization from the user of the mobile device.

Abstract: An interactive tool is disclosed for visualizing performance data in real-time to enable adaptive performance optimization for an application running on a massively parallel computer system. The interactive tool may be used to visualize network congestion (and other) performance counters for an application as it runs on the parallel system in real-time. Further, a developer may use the interactive tool to experiment with various tuning options and optimization approaches on-the-fly.

Abstract: In a monitoring system for networked devices, a system, method, and computer program product for transferring monitoring information from a remote monitor to a central monitor responsible for monitoring devices on multiple networks. A communications link is established between a remote monitor and a message transfer server. Monitoring information is formatted into a standard format, encrypted, encoded, and sent from the remote monitor to the central monitor as an attachment to an e-mail sent via the communication link to the message transfer server.

Abstract: A system and method for capturing non-forgeable packet traces. Upon start-up of a sniffer, a first quote of Platform Configuration Register (PCR) values in a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) utilized by the sniffer is obtained, wherein the first quote comprises a list of starting values in the PCRs and is signed by the TPM and stored in a packet log. When a packet of interest is intercepted by the sniffer, the sniffer obtains a hash of the packet and instructs the TPM to extend a PCR with the hash value. The packet of interest is then stored in the packet log. When the sniffer is shutdown, a second quote of values in the PCRs is obtained, wherein the second quote comprises a list of current values in the PCRs, and wherein the second quote is signed by the TPM and stored in the packet log.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present method and apparatus for efficiently expanding a P2P network includes receiving a search request message from a requesting node and sending a response message to the requesting node on behalf of a node that has the requested data, where the response message originates at an intermediate node. The intermediate node may respond on behalf of the “responding” node, for example, in cases where the responding node is too far away from the requesting node to receive the search request message.

Abstract: Computer systems, computer-readable media, and computerized methods for resolving fractional IP addresses using domain name system (DNS)-enabled devices are provided. The system includes a local DNS server that accesses a correlation table, which maintains a mapping between fractional IP addresses and domain names. The fractional IP addresses each represent an IPv4 address paired with a respective value of an IP version field. The system also includes a client device that is capable of transmitting to the local DNS server a request message, which includes a destination name of a device targeted by the client device. Upon receiving the request message, the local DNS server compares the destination name against the correlation table. When a match is discovered within the domain names populated within the correlation table, the local DNS server identifies and transmits to the client device a fractional IP address mapped to the matching domain name.

Abstract: A load balancer in a server farm automatically detects the addition of a server to a pool, decides on a proper configuration of the added server, and automatically configures the added server. A network configuration event such as a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) event is used as the basis for detecting the addition of the server. For example, the added server can replicate a configuration of the highest priority service in an existing pool.
