  • Patent number: 6691374
Abstract: An eyeglasses holder that includes a frame and a displaceable holding member. The frame may be integrally formed from a single piece of flexible, resilient material such as plastic or metal. The frame includes a base section and a holding section. These sections are connected to one another at a first pair of their ends while a second end of one of the sections is separated the section to form an entrance. The sections define between them a receiving space that is opened at opposite sides. In one embodiment, the entrance is normally sufficiently closed to bar the crossed temple bars or arms of a pair of eyeglasses. The resiliency of the frame allows the entrance to be enlarged sufficiently to allow the arms to pass through the entrance and into the receiving space, and to later pass outwardly through the entrance.

  • Patent number: 6691376
Abstract: A firmly secured paper clip comprises a foldable paper clip and a retainer. The paper clip is capable of being folded as three paper plates. The first paper plate is the longest one, and the third paper plate is the shortest one. The first paper plate is connected to the second paper plate and the second paper plate is connected to the third paper plate. In assembly, the second paper plate is folded and then is adhered on the first paper plate. Then the third paper plate is folded from the second paper plate and is located between the first paper plate and second paper plate. The retainer serves to fix the first paper plate and second paper plate to form the whole paper clip. Thereby, when a notepaper is inserted into a clamping opening between the first paper plate and third paper plate, it is firmly secured therein.

  • Patent number: 6692674
Abstract: A fastener product includes a planar base, multiple discrete plateaus molded integrally with and extending from an upper surface of the base each plateau having an upper surface that is smaller in area than an overall area of the base covered by the plateau, and an array of discrete fastener elements integrally molded with and extending from the upper surface of the plateau. The product is molded on a mold roll covered by a sleeve either made of a resilient material or having apertures intersecting an inner surface of the sleeve at an inner opening that is smaller than an outer opening of the aperture at an outer sleeve surface to form an edge of the fastener product of decreased sharpness.

  • Patent number: 6687960
Abstract: A boot band includes a locking hole formed in an outer overlapping portion of a band body, a locking nail formed on an inner overlapping portion, and an ear portion which can be plastically deformed into a shape that decreases the circumferential length of the band body. When being inserted in the locking hole, the locking nail can move between an engaging position to engage with a ridge of the locking hole and a disengaging position to disengage from the ridge. A narrow portion is formed at an intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction of the locking hole to restrain the locking nail from returning from the engaging position to the disengaging position side.

  • Patent number: 6681457
Abstract: A finishing method for obtaining a fiber surface fastener, said method being capable of, with simple processes, firmly fixing entangling portions between a foundation cloth composed of knitted/woven structure or nonwoven fabric and base portions of engaging elements, further, the finishing method being capable of preventing coating agent from adhering to or solidifying on the protruding surfaces of the engaging elements, said surface fastener having excellent softness. While a fiber surface fastener in which a plurality of engaging elements are formed on a foundation cloth thereof is conveyed continuously, powdery hot-melt adhesive is applied to its engaging element formation face from a separate position, the surface fastener is heated at a temperature higher than a melting point of said adhesive for a required time so that the adhesive applied is melted between the base portions of the engaging elements and the foundation cloth, and then said surface fastener is cooled.

  • Patent number: 6681459
Abstract: A stretchable string (100) having a first cross sectional diameter at rest and a second smaller cross sectional diameter when stretched. An aglet (200) positioned on the string. The aglet has an inner cross sectional diameter that is smaller than the cross sectional diameter of the string at rest and approximate to the cross sectional diameter of the string when it is sufficiently elongated. The aglet is moved along the string when the string is sufficiently elongated. The aglet can be repositioned along the string by stretching the string such that the diameter of the string is approximate to the inner diameter of the aglet. Excess string can then be removed.

  • Patent number: 6678922
Abstract: Bag closure 100, formed from a single length of pliable, resilient substantially-tubular hose comprises a first “base” section 10 of unmodified hose, a second narrowed “neck” section 20, and a third “clamp” section 30. Clamp section 30 is a trimmed section of hose having a substantially C-shaped cross section, formed by removing a narrow strip of hose material parallel to the hose axis. Hinge 20 is a trimmed section of hose having a substantially parenthesis-shaped cross section, formed by removing a wider strip of hose material parallel to the hose axis. A bag neck may be sealed by laying the flattened bag neck across substantially-cylindrical base 10, folding the closure at its narrowed neck or hinge 20 and forcing clamp section 30 over base 10, trapping the bag neck between base 10 and clamp 30 and forming a tight seal.

  • Patent number: 6665913
Abstract: An end-fitting buckle having a cam cover that allows webbing to be inserted when the cam cover is in an up position. After inserted, a free end of the webbing is pulled to tighten the webbing while the cover is in an intermediate position. The cover may then be closed to lock both the free end and load end. When the cover is locked, movement of the load end is prevented by teeth in the cam cover. The teeth lock the free end into place, holding the set position of the webbing. The cover design also promotes use of varied thicknesses of webbing, because the cam action of the cover utilizes friction between the two ends of the webbing instead of a pinching action.
