  • Patent number: 10210309
Abstract: Setting information in which a sequence with medical meaning is set as the sequence of viewing a plurality of medical image data is read from a portable medium. Moreover, in accordance with the sequence set in the setting information, a plurality of medical image data stored in the portable medium is replicated into a storage unit of a terminal device as replicated medical image data. Furthermore, before replication of all of the medical image data stored in the portable medium is finished, reception of an output instruction is started. Replicated medical image data corresponding to medical image data specified in the output instruction is then output to an output unit.

  • Patent number: 10204703
Abstract: A device may receive information that identifies a first medical term and may determine whether the first medical term corresponds to a first medical code, which may be a medical code previously input by a first user in association with a second medical term. Or, the first medical code may be included in a dictionary. The device may determine a valid code corresponding to the first medical term based on determining whether the first medical term corresponds to the first medical code. The valid code may be determined based on the first medical code when the first medical term corresponds to the first medical code. The valid code may be determined based on a second medical code, input by a second user, when the first medical term does not correspond to the first medical code. The device may provide information that identifies the valid code.

  • Patent number: 9959385
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for securely messaging healthcare entities. In one scenario, a computer system receives an input from a user indicating that a message including text or other characters is to be securely transmitted to a specified healthcare entity. The message is part of a conversation between a user and the specified healthcare entity. The computer system encrypts the characters of the message using at least one encryption algorithm, so that the message is encrypted during the transfer from the user to the specified healthcare entity. The computer system then initiates transmission of the encrypted message such that the encrypted message is sent to the specified healthcare entity. Throughout the process, the encrypted message is transferred in accordance with legal regulations governing healthcare communications.

  • Patent number: 9895133
Abstract: Systems and methods which implement a plurality of different imaging signatures in generating an image frame are shown. A first imaging signature may be configured for providing relatively high quality images with respect to subsurface regions of living tissue, for example, whereas a second imaging signature may be configured for providing relatively high quality images with respect to interventional instruments inserted into living tissue at a steep angle. Image sub-frames generated using each such different imaging signature are blended to form a frame of the final image providing a relatively high quality image of various objects within the volume being imaged.

  • Patent number: 9892231
Abstract: An assertion acceptance value matrix (300) indicates the reliability of assertions, particularly assertions or decisions whether records match or do not match, made by other medical institutions in a federation of medical institutions with different patient record systems and some common patients. Records from different institutions with a high likelihood of matching or not matching are automatically matched or not matched. Those that are ambiguous are manually reviewed. The assertion acceptance value matrix is used to reduce or expedite the manual review.

  • Patent number: 9824187
Abstract: The present invention includes a method for representing a plurality of pre-calculated solutions in radiation therapy that are stored in a database and displayed in a manner controllable by a user. Arrays of DVH curves provide the user with essential information on the ‘quality of a plan’. A DVH diagram is displayed as a main diagram, wherein only one of the solutions is visually represented at a time. By selecting a first starting point on a selected DVH curve as the main diagram, a first straight axis extending through the first starting point is placed. A first region, located around the first starting point and on the first straight axis, is highlighted as a first control region for controllable visualization of the plurality of currently non-displayed solutions stored in the database, the DVH curves of which correspond to the selected DVH curve and intersect the first straight axis.

  • Patent number: 9788729
Abstract: A storage unit stores volume data including a blood vessel region. An extracting unit extracts the blood vessel region from the volume data. A specifying unit specifies a position of a region of interest in the blood vessel region and a deflection direction of a blood vessel region included in the region of interest. A determining unit determines a viewing position and a viewing direction based on the position of the region of interest and the deflection direction. A generating unit generates image data concerning the viewing position and the viewing direction based on the volume data. A display unit displays an image represented by the image data.

  • Patent number: 9662036
Abstract: In a method for generating a tomographic image, at a first point in time, a first tomographic image is acquired of a layer of a patient and the region of cartilaginous tissue is determined in the first tomographic image. At a later second point in time a second tomographic image is acquired of the layer of the patient and the region of the cartilaginous tissue is determined in the second tomographic image. The tomographic image is generated from the first tomographic image and the second tomographic image, in which every pixel of the tomographic image is assigned a difference value between a corresponding pixel of the first tomographic image and a corresponding pixel of the second tomographic image. The validation number is determined by adding all the pixels in the region of the cartilaginous tissue in the tomographic image.

  • Patent number: 9619849
Abstract: A system and method integrating healthcare delivery to patients using data bridges that connect healthcare providers, patients, patient medical education, and patient monitoring devices is disclosed. The system incorporates a mobile user interface device (MUD) allowing user inputs or detected events from a variety of medical instrumentation devices (MID) to be controlled by a healthcare web server computer (HWS) over a computer communication network (CCN). Information retrieved from the MID and transmitted by the MUD to the HWS is then used by a patient healthcare monitor (PHM) process to populate a medical records database (MRD). MRD contents are then matched to patient healthcare plan (PHP) event/time triggers (ETT) that drive information from a provider content database (PCD) to the MUD through the HWS over the CCN. Healthcare provider update/control of the PHP/ETT/PCD allow integration of patient educational materials with patient health status monitoring.

  • Patent number: 9439621
Abstract: A method and system acquiring, processing and displaying breast ultrasound images in a way that makes breast ultrasound screening more practical and thus more widely used, and reduces missing cancers in screening and diagnosis, using automated scanning of chestwardly compressed breasts with ultrasound. Enhanced, whole-breast navigator overview images are generated from scanning breasts with ultrasound that emphasize abnormalities in the breast while excluding obscuring influences of non-breast structures, particularly those external to the breast such as ribs and chest wall, and differentiating between likely malignant and likely benign abnormalities and otherwise enhancing the navigator overview image and other images, to thereby reduce the time to read, screen, or diagnose to practical time limits and also reduce screening or diagnostic errors.
