  • Patent number: 7253812
Abstract: A pulse having a width of 20H is inserted into STV in correspondence with a vertical blanking period (a period of 21 H), and the speed of CKV is increased to 12 times the original speed over the period of 21 H at the same time the pulse becomes High. A video signal in the vertical blanking period is at a black level, so that black is written into all organic EL elements in the period. An organic EL display continues to display black for a time period elapsed until a video is next written by the original line selection pulse. The video signal is corrected such that the shorter a video display time period provided to the EL element becomes, the higher the input video luminance of the EL element becomes in order to display black.

  • Patent number: 7242371
Abstract: The present invention is a portable electronic video display. The display is configured to be worn on the arm or wrist of a user, or stored in a pocket or backpack. The display is raised to eye level and the user looks through an eyepiece to view the video display. Control buttons are located on the display for generating point and click type commands. The display is meant to be used remotely from a computer. The computer would be worn or carried by the person or simply be free standing, some distance away. The computer is configured to convert video signal into a serial data stream and then transmit that stream via an RF signal. The display then receives that signal and converts it back into a video signal, displaying it on a miniature electronic video display. That image is then magnified through various optics to present a final image to the user. The point and click commands are separately transmitted back to the computer, where they are received and acted upon.

  • Patent number: 7236164
Abstract: In a display device in accordance with the present invention, each pixel includes a plurality of luminescent elements having different luminous intensities to represent gray scales by controlling the turning ON/OFF of the luminescent elements. A digital signal is transmitted to each pixel to carry out control by thin film transistors connected in series with the luminescent elements. The luminous intensities of the luminescent elements are the geometric progressions of a common ratio of 2. The ON resistance of the thin film transistors is set to be lower than the ON resistance of the luminescent elements, while the OFF resistance of the thin film transistors is set to be higher than the OFF resistance of the luminescent elements. These features have reduced the nonuniformity in the luminous intensities of the luminescent elements caused by the nonuniformity in the conductance of the transistors, thus achieving improved image quality.
