  • Patent number: 11042702
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for solving a textual logic problem. A logic problem solution engine in the data processing system receives an input text containing a logic problem. A parser executing in the data processing system parses the input text to identify entities in the input text. The logic problem solution engine performs cognitive processing on the input text to discover relationships between the entities. A statistical analysis component executing in the data processing system determines statistical relationships between pairs of entities in the input text to form a set of statistical relationships. The logic problem solution engine determines whether a given statistical relationship within the set of statistical relationships fits as a solution to the logic problem.

  • Patent number: 10599775
Abstract: A consistent meaning framework (CMF) graph including a plurality of nodes linked by a plurality of edges is maintained in data storage of a data processing system. Multiple nodes among the plurality of nodes are meaning nodes corresponding to different word meanings for a common word spelling of a natural language. Each of the multiple word meanings has a respective one of a plurality of associated constraints. A natural language communication is processed by reference to the CMF graph. The processing includes selecting, for a word in the natural language communication, a selected word meaning from among the multiple word meanings based on which of the plurality of associated constraints is satisfied by the natural language communication. An indication of the selected word meaning is stored in data storage.

  • Patent number: 10585989
Abstract: Detection and classification of personally identifiable information includes identifying a document with a known author. A first set of features of the document is extracted using natural language processing, and a second set of features of the document is extracted based upon one or more past documents for the known author using a recurrent neural network. The first set of features and the second set of features are classified using a classifier to produce classified extracted features. Personally identifiable information is labeled in the document based upon the classified extracted features.

  • Patent number: 10585988
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-executable instructions for approximating a softmax layer are disclosed. A small world graph that includes a plurality of nodes is constructed for a vocabulary of a natural language model. A context vector is transformed. The small world graph is searched using the transformed context vector to identify a top-K hypothesis. A distance from the context vector for each of the top-K hypothesis is determined. The distance is transformed to an original inner product space. A softmax distribution is computed for the softmax layer over the inner product space of the top-K hypothesis. The softmax layer is useful for determining a next word in a speech recognition or machine translation.

  • Patent number: 10565189
Abstract: A system, computer program product, and method are provided to leverage a taxonomy service to format ground truth data. An artificial intelligence platform processes ground truth data, including identification of one or more applicable taxonomy tags. The identified tags are filtered and applied to the ground truth data, thereby constructing an output string that incorporates the ground truth data together with one or more of the identified tags, effectively transforming the ground truth data. Application of the transformed ground truth data is employed to accurately identify the source and/or meaning of the natural language, and in one embodiment, to product a physical action or transformation of a physical hardware device.

  • Patent number: 10515153
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of training an assessment model for assessing constructed texts expressing opinions on subjects includes accessing a plurality of training texts, which are constructed texts. The training texts are analyzed with the processing system to derive values of a plurality of linguistic features of an assessment model. At least one of the plurality of linguistic features relates to sentiment and at least one of the plurality of linguistic feature relates to specificity. The assessment model is trained with the processing system based on the values of the plurality of linguistic features. Based on the training, a weight for each of the plurality of linguistic features is determined. The assessment model is calibrated to include the weights for at least some of the plurality of linguistic features such that the assessment model is configured to generate assessment measures for constructed texts expressing opinions on subjects.
