Abstract: The invention relates to a biodegradable polymer comprising a plurality of releasable bioactive moieties, the releasable bioactive moieties being pendant from and covalently bonded to the biodegradable polymer backbone, wherein the biodegradable polymer backbone is formed from monomeric units that are each coupled via a biodegradable moiety, and wherein the bioactive moieties are capable of being released at a rate equal to or faster than the rate of biodegradation of the polymer backbone.

Abstract: A two-part oral care system includes a first vessel containing an oxidative composition having a pH less than 7.5 and a second vessel containing a reductant composition having a pH greater than 7. The first and second vessels isolate the oxidative and reductant compositions from reacting with one another during storage and the vessels can dispense the oxidative and reductant compositions for combining to result in a final composition for use. The oxidative composition includes an ozonated oil and an oxidant. The reductant composition includes an aloe gel or aloe vera, a xylitol, a ferrous sulfate, a sodium bicarbonate, a calcium carbonate, a zinc gluconate, a salt comprising, a bromelain, a papain and at least one essential oil. A probiotic lozenge may also be used after the two-part oral care system to install good bacteria.
Abstract: An antimicrobial oxychlorine oral rinse composition for preventing and treating oral malodor and diseases, tooth decay with improved palatability and tissue compatibility, includes an aqueous chlorine dioxide and chlorite ion solution with the chlorite ion predominating in the multiple oxychlorine rinse composition. A method for preparing such antimicrobial oxychlorine oral rinse composition comprising 3 ppm to about 200 ppm of chlorine dioxide, by first preparing an aqueous solution with about 7 to 400 ppm of chlorite ion; then an aqueous acidifying agent concentrate which, upon introduction to the chlorite solution, reduces its pH to about 4.5 to 6.0; then a second aqueous buffer-producing oxidant combination concentrate. The first acidifying agent concentrate is added to the chlorite ion solution and the second aqueous buffer-producing oxidant combination concentrate is added to the acidified chlorite ion solution, producing an antimicrobial oxychlorine oral rinse composition at about 5.0 to 6.8 pH.

Abstract: A mouthrinse containing chitosan or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with fluoride ions, for use against erosive tooth demineralization, and kits containing chitosan or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with fluoride ions, wherein one of the two active agents is comprised in a mouthrinse, are described. The mouthrinse may furthermore comprise dissolved tin, in particular stannous ions. Mouthrinses containing chitosan or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with fluoride ions are tested in the treatment or prevention of erosive tooth demineralization caused by citric acid.

Abstract: An encapsulated oral care composition includes: (a) a gelatin capsule; and (b) a oral care composition contained within the capsule, and including: (i) a hydrophilic active; (ii) a hydrophobic structuring agent; and (iii) an oil carrier. Abstract: A protective coating material applied to whitened or bleached teeth. The protective coating material comprises microcrystalline wax, mineral oil, vitamin E, and amorphous calcium phosphate or ACP. Abstract: Provided herein are a biocompatible gels, such as an oral gel composition and a topical gel composition. Generally, the oral gel composition may comprise a formulation in ozonized water of a cross-linked polyacrylate polymer and a preservative and sodium hydroxide, acetic acid, and glycerol to polymerize the polyacrylate. Optionally, the oral gel composition may comprise a sweetener and/or a flavoring agent. The topical gel composition is a similar formulation in ozonized water with a cross-linked polyacrylate polymer and a preservative and sodium hydroxide, acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide to polymerize the polyacrylate. Further provided are methods of using the gel compositions to reduce dental caries and to treat a skin injury.
