    Abstract: A method for capturing material extracted from biochar is provided comprising the steps of: (i) providing a biochar; (ii) contacting the biochar with an extraction media, where the extraction media causes the removal of residual compounds from the pores and surface of the biochar, creating a resulting extract comprised of the extraction media and removed compounds; and (iii) collecting the resulting extract. The method also can include other steps of extraction and purification. The method further comprises the step of applying the resulting extract to seeds, plants, soil, other agricultural products, or for use in other applications. A biochar having high levels of soluble signaling compounds is also provided, where the biochar is derived from a biomass source that together with predefined pyrolysis parameters produces resulting biochar having increased levels of soluble signaling compounds that are known to increase seed germination rates and early plant growth.

The formulation liberates nutrient(s) that are normally bound in the soil as insoluble salts and complexes. These delivery formulations also provide an environmentally sound and inherently safe solvating system that improves diffusion of polyorganic acids to the granule fertilizer. These delivery formulations enable safe storage, transport and subsequent application or blending with solid or liquid fertilizers. The combined formulation and fertilizer can be applied to soil to provide improved efficacy of fertilizer by liberating nutrients bound in the soil for uptake by plant life.

The process also includes separating and classifying the digestate into multiple high solids fractions and a first filtrate. The process also includes adding the high solids fractions to an acid solution to form a slurry that is then separated and classified into multiple second solids fractions and a second filtrate. The process also includes clarifying the first and second filtrates to produce a first and a second centrate. The process also includes mixing the first centrate with the second centrate to form the product solution.

A composition comprising mineral oil, primary alkylamines and water-insoluble particles may coat fertilizer particles and make them suitable for fertigation. Furthermore, the coated particles display reduced dusting tendency. The coating composition may be applied as a thin, single, continuous layer covering the particle core. The coating may avoid surface film problems when the particles are dissolved in water, even if the very hydrophobic mineral oil is less dense than water. It may be counterintuitive to include water-insoluble particles in a fertilizer particle for fertigation, however the claimed particles may be dissolved to make a fertigation solution that avoid problems in tanks, nozzles and piping of the fertigation systems.
