    Abstract: The box-like package made of a thermoformable plastics sheet being of a one-piece, punched blank provided with folding scores. Supporting profiles are molded out inwardly or outwardly from individual regions of the blank by means of thermoforming. These supporting profiles resiliently support the packed product which is susceptible to shock; they are therefore preferably adapted to the contours of the product. The entire pack, including the supporting profiles, forms a single part, so that additional supporting inserts are superfluous. The most important advantages: saving in packaging material, dispensing with troublesome to handle additional inserts, good stackability of the sheets before assembly, readily recyclable monomaterial package.

    Abstract: Thermoforming apparatus and methodology is provided to form a breakaway port in a molded piece, such as a container lid. The apparatus includes a forging assembly that has a punch element and a striker assembly, so that a material blank that is heated to a plastic state by an oven may be advanced therebetween. When the thermoforming mold closes, a striker element and the punch element come together with a striking force so that a portion of the blank is forced against a male profile on the punch element to forge the port by forming lines of reduced thickness that are partible under mechanical force but which normally maintain the integrity of the molded piece against the passage of fluids. The striker element can be adjustably spring biased and can be mounted, for example, to the pressure box of the thermoforming mold while the punch element is positioned on the mold assembly that provides the mold configuration for the piece to be formed.

    Abstract: According to a central mechanism of a tire vulcanizer of the present invention, in a central mechanism of a tire vulcanizer in which a lower clamp ring holding a lower end portion of a bladder is fixed detachably to a lower ring having a passage of a vulcanizing medium, key-shaped holes are bored on the lower clamp ring, springs which press clamp rods which penetrate through the lower ring downward and a fluid pressure cylinder which pushes up the clamp rods against the spring force are provided, and the clamp rods are pushed up so as to release fixing of the lower clamp ring, and the lower clamp ring is removed by rotating the lower clamp ring by a predetermined angle from a state in which the lower clamp ring and the lower ring are fixed to each other by having nuts fixed at the upper ends of the clamp rods engaged with the key holes. Accordingly, the replacement operation of the bladder is automated, thus making it possible to improve the operation rate.

    Abstract: A device for producing pellets from film. A cradle is rotatably mounted about a longitudinal axis of rotation to a main frame. An axle arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis holds one or more rolls of film. A plurality of drive rollers pull the film from the rolls while the rolls are rotated on the longitudinal axis twisting the film into a strand. An oven located between the rolls and drive rollers heats the strand to permanently set the twist thereon. A pelletizer located aft of the drive rollers cuts the strand into individual pellets. In a modified version, glass roving is extended through the holder past the roll and wrapped with the film into a single strand. In an alternate embodiment, the roll of film is mounted to an axle having a longitudinal axis extending in the same direction as the axis of rotation. The film is pulled axially off the roll and twisted into a strand.
