  • Patent number: 11641640
Abstract: Techniques for location determination of user equipment (UE) are provided. In an aspect, a position estimation entity (e.g., UE, gNB, LMF, etc.) identifies a pool of UEs for a SL-assisted position estimation procedure of a set of target UEs. SL SRS-Ps are communicated (e.g., transmitted and measured) between the pool of UEs (e.g., for relative SL ranging). UL SRS-Ps are communicated by at least some of the UEs in the pool of UEs. The position estimation entity obtains measurement data for both the SL SRS-P and UL-SRS-P communications. The position estimation entity determines a position estimate for each UE in the set of UEs based on the measurement information.

  • Patent number: 11627214
Abstract: A computing device determines that the computing device is within wireless proximity to a secondary wireless device. Based on the computing device being within wireless proximity to the secondary wireless device, the computing device determines at least one function of the secondary wireless device, and generates an aggregate user interface for display on a display screen of the computing device. The aggregate user interface identifies the secondary wireless device and indicates the at least one function of the secondary wireless device. The computing device receives, via the aggregate user interface, a user input selecting the secondary wireless device. Responsive to the user input, the computing device presents a second user interface including one or more selectable features for operating the secondary wireless device.

  • Patent number: 11622232
Abstract: A target user equipment (UE), which may be a vehicle or UE carried by a pedestrian, may receive sequentially broadcast ranging signals from a set of ranging source entities (SEs), which may be road side units or other vehicles. The target UE further receives location information separately broadcast by each SEs. The location information, for example, may include the position for the SE, the time of transmission of the ranging signals transmitted by the SE and/or a sequence identifier for the SE. The target UE may determine ranges to the SEs using time of arrival measurements for the ranging signals and the time of transmissions of the ranging signals or the sequence identifier received in the location information. The position of the target UE may be determined using the determined ranges to the SEs and the positions of the SEs received in the location information.

  • Patent number: 11582595
Abstract: A more efficient over-the-air software push can be facilitated by a firmware over-the-air (FOTA) server device in communication with a home subscriber server (HSS). For example, the FOTA server can host the names of user equipment devices that are due for a FOTA update. When a user equipment device identification is received from the HSS, the FOTA server can then check the user equipment device identification against the names within the server. If the name is found, then the system can send discontinuous reception data to the user equipment device to modify a current discontinuous reception value of the user equipment device. Thus, the modified discontinuous reception value can prompt a long reception time of the user equipment device such that the user equipment device can receive the FOTA.

  • Patent number: 11582826
Abstract: According to an aspect, a user equipment, UE, in a suspended state in a Radio Access Network, RAN, in response to expiration of a first timer, transmits an RRCResumeRequest message. The UE receives a reject message in response to the RRCResumeRequest message. In response to the reject message, the UE starts a second timer and subsequently transmits a further RRCResumeRequest message. The further RRCResumeRequest message is received by the network during a period bounded approximately by the lesser of a duration of the second timer and a period of the periodic UE event and the greater of the duration of the second timer and the period of the periodic UE event.

  • Patent number: 11576168
Abstract: A wireless device receives, from a base station, configuration parameters indicating: power control parameters; and downlink reference signals. A determination is made, based on measurements of the downlink reference signals, of a downlink reference signal of the downlink reference signals. One or more power control parameters are selected from the power control parameters that is associated with the downlink reference signal. Based on the one or more power control parameters, an uplink transmission power for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) is determined. An uplink transport block is transmitted with the uplink transmission power via the PUSCH.

  • Patent number: 11558130
Abstract: An apparatus transmits a quality of experience (QoE) support message to an access point (AP) within an access network. The QoE support message queries whether the AP supports providing key performance indicators (KPI(s)) indicative of QoE provided by the access network. An indication of whether the AP supports providing the KPI(s) is received in response to the QoE support message. The KPI(s) are received when the AP supports providing the KPI(s). • Patent number: 11553328
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for provisioning and/or controlling operator profiles in terminals, each having an integrated circuit card identified by an integrated circuit card identifier. According to one aspect, a discovery server is configured with an authorization table including associations of integrated circuit card identifier, service provider identifier, and operator identifier(s). The discovery server receives, from a data preparation node, an event registration request that includes a number of elements. The discovery server determines whether the event is authorized. If so, the event is registered. This enables a terminal to seek to retrieve the event, to contact the data preparation node, and to eventually perform the profile operation. Some embodiments enable the network-initiated provisioning and/or controlling of operator profiles in machine-to-machine devices.
