  • Patent number: 4505447
Abstract: A support for mounting an object on a vertically disposed hollow wall having an exterior surface and an interior surface spaced from each other by a predetermined distance. The support comprising a body, an intermediate leg and a wall piercing member. The body is an elongated planar member having a first and second end. The leg is a planar member approximately equal in length to said predetermined distance and is connected to the first end of said body perpendicularly to the plane of the body. The piercing member is connected to said leg portion parallel to the plane of said body means and is arranged to pierce through the wall portion connecting said surfaces, whereupon, when said support is rotated downward with respect to said wall portion, the piercing member abuts said interior surface of the wall with the body abutting the exterior surface and the leg resting on the wall material contiguous with the opening produced by the piercing action.

  • Patent number: 4505446
Abstract: The present invention is directed to means for demountably securing the housing (3) of a container for presenting decorative items to a smooth surface irrespective of its inclination. A rubber suction cup (12) is operatively attached to the bottom of the container housing (3), and a pin (11) is secure to, and extends upwardly from, the central, distortable, portion of the cup (12). The pin (11) is axially translatable within a sleeve guide (4) mounted behind the cup (12) on the housing (3). At least one thrust rod (6) is translatable radially with respect to the pin (11) and slideably received within a pair of aligned slots (5 & 13) which penetrate the pin (11) and sleeve guide (4), respectively. The thrust rod (6) presents an obliquely inclined camming surface (9) which engages the slot (13) such that radial translation of the thrust rod (6) effects axial translation of the pin (11) to actuate the vacuum cup (12 ). The camming surface (9) does not interact with slot (13).

  • Patent number: 4501400
Abstract: The invention contemplates a unitary cable-clamp fitting adapted for clamped above-ground suspension of a cable from a telephone pole or the like. The fitting comprises two elongate side panels integrally connected by an elongate single bend, establishing an initially acute angle between the side panels. The outer longitudinal edge of each panel is characterized by an elongate flange bent inward and generally toward the opposed side panel, at an acute angle to its associated side panel. The initial space between flanges is slightly less than the cable diameter to be accommodated, so that cable assembly and loose retention are achieved via snap-action insertion between the flanges. Bolts spanning aligned apertures in the side panels enable secure clamping to, and lug-retention against loss of, an inserted cable.

  • Patent number: 4500064
Abstract: A support assembly for a mast includes a mounting plate to which a cradle can be permanently fused or attached by means of spacers of different thickness to select the desired spacing of the mast from the mounting plate. The cradle has an arcuate mast support surface which extends axially to a length at least twice the arcuate length. The arcuate arc length is preferably less than 180.degree.. The mounting plate is adapted to be secured to a masonry wall, such as the side of chimney, by means of masonry screws or the like. To this end the mounting plate is provided with at least two mounting holes, at least one of which is elongated to assure that both mounting holes overlie mortar spaces between bricks in the masonry wall. The supported mast is clamped to the cradle by means of a U-bolt and toothed bracket plate.
