  • Patent number: 10137294
Abstract: A method for protecting a pressure transducer from fluid pressure damage using a pressure isolation mechanism is disclosed. The method includes associating the pressure transducer with an isolation port of the pressure isolation mechanism, placing a pressurizing device for delivering fluid under pressure in fluid connection with an inlet port of the pressure isolation mechanism, and actuating the pressurizing device to cause fluid flow in the inlet port such that a free floating, fluid flow responsive valve member positioned in an internal cavity of the pressure isolation mechanism engages a seal seat therein to attain a closed position, preventing fluid flow between the inlet port and the isolation port and thus prevent overpressure in the isolation port. Hemodynamic pressure signals read with the pressure transducer may be transmitted at least in part through a body of the valve member, or a portion thereof, when in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 10126763
Abstract: The valve includes a casing arrangeable so the fluid in the passage flows over an outer side. The valve includes a piston axially slidably positionable within the casing, and the axial position regulates the fluid pressure in the poppet valve passage downstream, an annular clearance between the piston and casing. The valve includes a dynamic seal between the piston and casing to seal the annular clearance end. The valve includes a piston chamber located on the dynamic seal opposing side of the annular clearance so a leakage flow may cross the dynamic seal between the annular clearance and piston chamber. The fluid pressure in the piston chamber varies the axial position within the casing. A diversion path formed in the casing diverts fluid for the leakage flow into the annular clearance from the fluid flow in the passage, the diversion path having filter to filter debris from the diverted fluid.

The moveable member may be configured to have a unitary construction formed of a single component, by which a unitary shell defines a substantially hollow interior. The moveable member has a hollow interior and a weep hole for equalizing pressure between the hollow interior and exterior of the moveable member.

  • Patent number: 10088066
Abstract: A hydraulic valve includes a biasing member for generating a biasing force to press a valve seat and a valve member. When a second hydraulic chamber has higher hydraulic pressure than a first hydraulic chamber, a hydraulic pressure difference between the first and second hydraulic chambers acts on the valve seat to separate the valve seat from the valve member against the biasing force of the biasing member so that the first hydraulic chamber and the second hydraulic chamber come into fluidal communication.

  • Patent number: 10085674
Abstract: A system is configured to generate a pressurized flow of gas comprised of a first gas having a partial pressure that varies in a predetermined manner. This may be used, for example, to simulate a previous and/or theoretical respiratory gas flow that was produced (or could have been produced) by a subject. The system is configured to deliver the pressurized flow of gas to a testing system configured to measure the partial pressure the first gas in flows of gas. This may provide an opportunity to determine the response of individual testing systems to various clinical circumstances.
