  • Patent number: 11166253
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for utilizing location services of a mesh network to aid in tracking the presence and location of information handling systems in an environment having a large number of systems installed. In one embodiment, each information handling system joins a mesh network to form localized clusters. Mesh network location services aid the new system in finding a vertically-closest node in the cluster or a neighboring cluster. With this information, the new system can determine in which rack the system is installed. This information can then be provided to an inventory management system for inclusion of the information handling system in an inventory tracking database. Embodiments are also configured to determine when an information handling system is removed from the mesh network and can inform the inventory management system of the removal in order to determine whether additional steps need to be taken in response.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods and apparatus for hygiene monitoring in chain restaurants and grocery superstores. Four sub-systems are introduced to take care of different aspects of hygiene in restaurants. One sub-system uses contactless and in-contact temperature sensors installed on appliances to constantly monitor the temperature of working appliances to be in pre-defined range and use an Internet of Things gateways to transmit the data to remote control unit. The system generate an alert or report if the temperature of the appliances falls beyond the predefined range for more than a specific period of time. Another sub-system use a combination of temperature, humidity, UV and gas detectors to monitor the environment to be unsuitable for growth of fungus and bacteria and alert in case of exposure to harmful material and sun radiation. • Patent number: 11159960
Abstract: Systems and methods herein can synchronize 802.11ax Uplink (UL) and Downlink (DL) Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) schedules between adjacent APs that have overlapping BSSs, which may not be solved by BSS coloring. The method includes several stages. First, the APs detect RF interference from APs with overlapping BSSs. Then, the APs conduct time synchronization between these APs. The various APs can then elect a master scheduler. The master scheduler creates and implements a master schedule between these APs to coordinate use of the radio resource.

  • Patent number: 11153739
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for emergency modes for a mobile device (e.g., a mobile phone) are described. The mobile device may receive sonic signals indicative of a voice of a person uttering words and identify the person as an authorized user. The mobile device may determine that the words correlate with an emergency situation from a set of predefined emergency situations. Further, the mobile device may determine that the emergency situation satisfies a threshold. The mobile device may perform one or more tasks (e.g., making a phone call to an emergency service), after determining that the emergency situation has satisfied the threshold. In some cases, the mobile device may monitor physiological signals of the person and/or collect additional data to increase a confidence level associated with making the determination. In some cases, the mobile device may leverage or include an artificial intelligence algorithm/engine to facilitate managing the emergency modes.

  • Patent number: 11083044
Abstract: In a 5th-Generation (5G) cellular communication network, charging customers for data usage is performed by a network function referred to as a charging function (CHF). A session management function (SMF) of the network repeatedly sends update requests to reserve additional data for a data session. If the CHF is not available and the SMF does not receive a response to an update message, the SMF continues to assign data for the data session, even though it has not received authorization to do so from the CHF. When the CHF becomes available, the SMF sends a request to start a second data session to continue the data connection that was previously supported by the original data session. This request specifies the amount of data that was used in the original data session without being confirmed by the CHF, allowing the CHF to account for this data usage.
