    Abstract: A doll includes a body and a head, two legs and two arms, each movably attached to the body. The doll includes a mechanism connected with the head, with each of the legs, and with the arms. The mechanism is configured to displace the legs frontwardly with respect to the body in alternating succession and to displace the head in lateral directions with respect to the body such that the head moves toward one lateral side of the body as one of the legs displaces frontwardly from the opposite lateral side of the body. Movement of the legs displaces the body of the doll in either a walking or a crawling mode. Further, a motor is connected with the mechanism to drive the mechanism to displace the legs, arms and head with respect to the body. An electrical circuit is connected with the motor and has a microphone. The circuit is configured to drive the motor when the microphone receives sound, particularly a user-generated command.

The apparatus allows a user to apply paint to a substrate, such as paper, and manipulate the paint by smearing it with fingers, trowels, rollers and other similar implements which are moved across the surface of the barrier.

    Abstract: A self-propelled musical toy rolling ball which plays musical tunes and sound effects. The ball may also include decorative images on its surface which may generally correspond to the musical tune or sound effects played by the ball. The electronics of the ball, once energized, operate to propel the ball and simultaneously activate an integrated circuit sound effects chip which plays first sound sequence, typically a musical tune. When the ball bumps into a wall or other object, the propulsion mechanism, typically a drive motor which may be transmissivly connected to a central axis shaft, is disengaged and the circuit then plays a second sound sequence, typically a randomly selected pre-programmed sound effect from one of a plurality of different sounds. Thereafter, the propelling mechanism is again activated and the ball resumes playing the musical tune.

    Abstract: A pocket sized toy game including an enclosure defining a chamber wherein a die is retained for movement, a manually operated mechanism for randomly moving the dice within the chamber, and a game board. The enclosure includes a cover and a pivotally interconnected base. An open sided transparent housing located in a cavity defined by the cover defines a chamber wherein the dice are movably retained. The manually operated mechanism is arranged within the cover and includes a pivotal lever which impacts against the dice to facilitate moving the dice within the chamber to facilitate playing the game. The cover is movable between open and closed positions. In its open position, the cover is generally disposed upright relative to the base. In its closed position, the cover lies generally paralleled to the base and defines a cavity therebetween.

    Abstract: A wrist-borne launcher for a toy vehicle having a road-engaging flywheel mounted on an axle, one end of which extends through the bearing of a false wheel and terminates in a male coupler coaxial with a ring on the outer hub thereof. When not in use, the vehicle is held on a platform having a battery compartment, the platform being provided at its underside with a wrist-engaging cuff. Wires from the battery compartment pass through an arm cantilevered from the platform to reach over the hand of the player. The wires are connected to an electric motor housed in a power box supported at the free end of the arm, a depressible switch being connected in series with the motor. The shaft of the motor terminates in a female coupler coaxially disposed within a cylindrical socket formed in the side of the box corresponding to the underside of the platform, a switch actuator being interposed between the female coupler and the rim of the socket.

    Abstract: An articulated toy vehicle capable of negotiating a difficult terrain such as a terrain characterized by successive troughs and peaks and other irregularities. The articulated vehicle is composed of a wheeled tractor section and a series of wheeled trailer sections linked thereto by means of a motor-driven, multi-section drive shaft, each section of which is operatively coupled to a wheel axle of a respective vehicle section. The drive shaft sections are intercoupled by detachable universal joints whereby as the vehicle traverses the difficult terrain, it assumes a sinuous formation conforming to the varying contours of the terrain to provide a distributed traction making it possible for the vehicle to overcome the difficulties presented by the terrain.

    Abstract: A motorizd toy car which upon frontal impact with a wall or other obstruction simulates a crash and its consequences. The wheeled car is provided with a chassis on which a hollow body is mounted, the body being defined by a front hood section having a simulated bumper prow, an intermediate cockpit section accommodating a hinged side door, and a rear trunk section having a trunk lid hinged thereon. The intermediate and rear sections are formed of rigid material and are attached to the chassis, whereas the front section which is formed of resilient material is free of the chassis. Slidable along the chassis is a sled whose front end is attached to the prow of the front body section, a coil spring urging the sled to a retracted position in which the front section is deformed to assume a crushed appearance.

    Abstract: A free-wheeling toy vehicle which when propelled makes a repetitive sound simulating the noise of an internal combustion engine. The vehicle includes a chassis having bearings supporting front and rear wheel axles. Lying on top of the chassis between the axles is a drum having an elastic drum head. Cantilevered from one end of the chassis is a clapper formed of a flat metal spring terminating in a striker, the spring being biased so that the striker normally rests on the drum head. A finger projects downwardly from the clapper, the tip of the finger being successively engaged by the equispaced teeth of a hub mounted on one of the wheel axles and turning therewith. Each time the finger tip is engaged by a moving tooth, the finger is pushed forward to raise the striker above the drum head; and when the finger than falls between adjacent teeth, the striker is released to hit the drum head to generate a thumping sound.

The shift stick is movable to a lateral position having a forward and a reverse mode in which the motor is operatively coupled to the wheel axles.

    Abstract: A toy vehicle having a rear hitching element engageable by a dynamic coupler at one end of a sled-type trailer which may be more or less loaded by a player. The coupler is attached to a spring-biased piston slidable within a box projecting from the trailer whereby the extent to which the piston is withdrawn from the box when the trailer is hauled by the work vehicle depends on the magnitude of the load placed on the trailer. Operatively coupled to the piston is a load-indicating meter whose reading not only tells the player how great a load has been placed on the trailer, but also indicates the ability of the vehicle to haul this load, for the meter pointer will not move beyond the point at which the vehicle is stalled.

    Abstract: A toy vehicle propelled by a bi-directional, miniature d-c motor, coupled by a clutch through a gear train to a wheel axle. A manually-operated shift stick mechanism is operatively linked both to the clutch and to a polarity-reversing switch interposed between the motor and a battery. The arrangement is such that when the stick is in neutral, the battery is disconnected and the clutch is disengaged, whereby the vehicle is then free rolling. When the stick is put in its forward position, the clutch is engaged to couple the motor to the gear train and the switch is operated to apply voltage to the motor in a polarity causing the vehicle to travel in the forward direction. When the stick is put in its reverse position, the clutch is again engaged and the switch is operated to apply voltage to the motor in the reverse polarity, causing the vehicle to travel in the opposite direction.

    Abstract: A miniature toy vehicle capable of performing rear wheelies, spinouts and other playful stunts, the vehicle including a chassis having rotatable front and rear wheel axles mounted thereon, a hollow body being supported on the chassis to simulate the appearance of an automobile. A flywheel motor is supported for rotation on the chassis within the body on a flywheel axle normal to the rear wheel axle. The flywheel axle is operatively coupled to the rear wheel axle whereby when the rear wheel axle is rotated, it causes the flywheel motor to spin and to store energy for propelling the vehicle in the forward direction. The relationship of the flywheel motor to the structure of the vehicle is such as to cause the vehicle to behave as a gyro exhibiting precessional motion which in combination with the concurrent forward motion makes it possible for the vehicle to perform stunts.The flywheel has a layer of abrasive material on its upper face.

    Abstract: A toy automobile which simulates both the appearance and performance of a modern hard top convertible. The convertible is provided with a unitary top piece which normally covers the cockpit of the car and is formed by top and side walls both joined to a rear panel. The rear panel is linked by a pair of flexible racks to a mechanism operatively coupled to the front wheel axle and adapted to swing open the top piece to expose the cockpit. In operation, when the convertible body is grasped by the player and the front is pressed down and pushed forward on a running surface, the top piece is caused to swing open, the vehicle when released by the player then continuing to travel in the forward direction. And when this same action is carried out by the player in the reverse direction, the top piece is caused to resume its normal closed position.
