  • Patent number: 4605319
Abstract: A rolling bearing having an inner and outer race and at least one row of rolling members between the races, and sealing rings closing off the space between the races externally, each of which consists of an annular element of a rigid material, for example a metal, the outer edge of which is accommodated in an annular groove in the outer race of the rolling bearing and a sealing element, attached thereto, of an elastic material having a lip-shaped part which, with respect to the annular element, projects inward and rests against the inner race of the rolling bearing, characterized in that the annular element is a flat ring which closes off the space between the races, except for a relatively narrow slot between its inner peripheral edge and the inner race, and the sealing element of an elastic material likewise has essentially the shape of a flat ring, the outer peripheral part of which and the element of a rigid material are joined, so that the inner peripheral part projects outside the inner periphery of the

  • Patent number: 4047770
Abstract: A hub bearing unit assembly having an inner and outer race ring, which being unified with a fastening flange, with rows of rolling elements located between the races, said rolling elements being separated from one another by means of a cage, as well as comprising seals, which retain a lubricant contained between the rolling elements, the bearing parts being connected to a shaft or part of a shaft, wherein the end part of the inner race opposite the flange section and situated outside the inner side of said race ring, the so-called head section, comprises coupling elements by means of which the race is connected to the shaft or a part of it so as to transmit power.

  • Patent number: 4040683
Abstract: A rolling bearing is provided with an integrally assembled fastening flange and inner and outer races and a plurality of rolling elements between the inner and outer races. The rolling elements are separated from one another by a bearing cage. A flexible material seals the area of the rolling elements and their contact surfaces for inhibiting penetration by foreign matter or loss of lubricant. At least one of the seals is fastened on one side of the rolling elements between the inner and outer races against respective first and second walls with each respective end of the seal contacting the first and second walls. The seal ends are held against the first and second walls by a relatively inflexible material element applied onto an exterior side of the seal out of contact with the walls and surrounding the exterior side of the seal for maintaining the seal ends in position.
