Abstract: Tissue access devices and methods of using the same are disclosed. The devices can have a sensor configured to occlude a flow path by deflecting a membrane into the flow path when the devices become dislodged from tissue. The sensor can be configured to partially or fully occlude the flow path. The sensor can have a spring. The spring can be biased to move the sensor from a sensor first configuration to a sensor second configuration when a force applied by the sensor first surface against a non-sensor surface changes from a first force to a second force less than the first force. The membrane can be deflected into the flow path when the sensor is in the sensor second configuration.

Abstract: An atom interferometer that utilizes two counterpropagating continuous 3D-cooled atom beams which are directed into a vacuum chamber. Momentum-transfer laser (MTL) beams are directed into the atom beams to produce a predetermined recoil and subsequently generate an interference signal that is read by a photodetector and analyzed by a processor to provide information regarding inertial forces such as acceleration and rotation rate. Reversal of the recoil direction of the MTL beams allows for the suppression of errors in the measurement of the inertial forces.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for producing a cooled atom beam suitable for use applications requiring cold atoms. A two-stage cooling process is employed in which the atoms in the atom beam are cooled in two, spatially separated regions of a cooling apparatus, wherein the atoms are first cooled in two dimensions by two counterpropagating laser beams under a magnetic field and then are cooled in three dimensions by means of an optical molasses, where the power, frequency, and magnetic fields are tuned to obtain a continuous beam of three-dimensionally cooled atoms having a controllable velocity distribution, very low decoherence, and low background atomic gas loss.

Abstract: A Rapid Air Ballast System that generates ballast for an airship relatively quickly by compressing air at low pressures into a ballonet inside a large volume tank. The air pressure inside the ballonet being roughly equal to the lifting gas pressure outside the ballonet but inside the tank. The system comprising a controllable air compression device to achieve the desired air pressure and valves in the system to direct the flow of air into or out of the system. This is particularly useful for quickly and efficiently controlling aerostatic lift for an airship, especially while performing on-loading and off-loading of payload operations.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a collaborative platform to inform and facilitate an intelligent purchase decision is provided. The platform includes a point of sale device having a processor with a processor implementable widget for receiving customer data, the widget being configured to transmit the customer data to a host server remote from the point of sale device. The host server includes a processor implementable rating engine, the rating engine being configured to provide the customer specific information to a third party evaluator, perform a customer evaluation assessment based on third party customer information received from the third party evaluator, perform an item valuation based on the purchase price information and the item specific information, determine whether the customer is eligible to purchase an additional purchase item based on the customer evaluation assessment and the item valuation, and provide to the point of sale device offer data.

Abstract: The online poker gaming system comprises a live or recorded poker game, and at least one gaming terminal. The live or recorded poker game involves a group of players sitting around a table. Each player is playing for prize money so there is a cash incentive for each to win. The player terminal displays images of the live or recorded game being broadcast for view by an online player. The player terminal also includes a schematic of the game for presenting in a concise and visual way, the game status and gaming data of the live or recorded game. The player terminal also includes a keypad, enabling the online player to select one or more players to win, and select a value for each selection. So while the online player cannot make gaming decisions—fold, call, check, and raise—the online player can participate by making selections, much as one would make selections at a racetrack. The online player can make multiple playing selections unavailable to the player sitting at the table.

Abstract: A hybrid flexible wire shaft having an inner portion with the characteristics of a push/pull shaft having at least one layer of wire groups helically wound on a core wire at a relatively high pitch angle, and an outer portion with the characteristics of a torsional transmission flexible shaft having two or more layers of wire groups wound on the central portion at a relatively low pitch angle. Each layer of the outer group is wound in a direction opposite to the wind direction of each adjacent layer of that group. In an alternate construction, the high and low pitch portions are reversed and an additional outer layer is provided which is wound in a direction opposite to the outermost layer of the high pitch portion.
