  • Patent number: 7567157
Abstract: A rectangular coil has several successive windings which are made of a strip-shaped super conductor, which contains at least one core which is embedded in a normal conductive matrix material and which is made of a high-Tc-super conductor material. The coil is made of a strip-shaped superconductor and does not have additional insulation.

  • Patent number: 7528510
Abstract: The machine device comprises a motor (2) with a rotor (5) rotating about an axis (A), the superconducting winding of which is coupled with thermal conduction to a central refrigerant cavity (12). The cavity (12) forms a single-tube system, together with the line sections (22) laterally connected thereto and a condenser chamber (18) of a refrigeration unit, located outside the motor (2), in which a refrigerant (k, k?) circulates as result of a thermal siphon effect. According to the invention, the refrigerant supply to the central cavity (12) is maintained, even with inclined positions (d) for the rotor (5), whereby pressurization means are provided, which generate pressure pulses of gaseous refrigerant, acting on the liquid refrigerant (k) in the condenser chamber (18) or the connected line sections (22).

  • Patent number: 7339293
Abstract: An electric machine has a rotor that is rotatable about an axis of rotation, and an especially superconducting winding which is to be cooled to a low temperature. The winding is enveloped by a securing means with a wrap. The outer contour of the wrap of the securing means increases from a smaller outside diameter to a greater outside diameter in the axial direction. The wrap is surrounded in a force-fitting manner by several securing rings which are arranged one behind another and have an inside diameter which conforms to the respective outside diameter of the outer contour.

  • Patent number: 7211921
Abstract: An aspect of the invention relates to a machine comprising a rotor mounted so it can rotate about a rotational axis, and a superconductive winding located in a winding support. Further, connection devices are provided to retain the winding support inside a rotor external housing. To compensate changes caused by the expansion of the winding support, a connection device should have at least one connection element that extends axially with one end of the element connected to the winding support in a fixed manner, and the opposite free end connected to a centering retaining element of the rotor eternal housing in a non-positive radial fit, so it can be displaced axially.

  • Patent number: 7075208
Abstract: The machine comprises a rotor with a winding for cooling, which is in particular superconducting, in a winding support. A device with a composite body made of fiber-reinforced plastic is provided, for retention of the winding support within a rotor outer housing, on a torque transmitting side. The composite body is in one piece and comprises lateral pieces and a center piece, whereby the lateral pieces extend outwards in a funnel shape and the center piece is in the form of a hollow cylinder. The lateral pieces should at least partly comprises a corrugated form in the circumferential direction and are connected with a positive or friction fit by press-ring bodies with flange-like fixing pieces made from metal.

  • Patent number: 7049717
Abstract: A superconducting device has a rotor rotatable about an axis of rotation and a superconducting winding in a heat conducting winding carrier. The winding carrier has a central cooling agent cavity with a lateral cavity leading out of the winding carrier connected thereto. A cold head associated with a cooling unit is connected to a condenser unit which condenses the cooling agent. A fixed heat tube guiding the cooling agent is coupled to the condenser unit, protruding axially into the co-rotating lateral cavity and is sealed in relation thereto.

  • Patent number: 6836043
Abstract: The engine has a rotor rotationally mounted about a rotational axis and is provided with a superconductive winding arranged in a winding support. In order to fix the winding support inside an external rotor housing, a rigid connecting device having a hollow cylindrical connecting element made of fiber reinforced plastic is provided on the torque transmitting side. The connecting element is configured as a single piece and consist of end parts located on the front face and a central part located between the latter, wherein the end parts are corrugated in peripheral direction and are non-corrugated in the central part. The end parts of the connecting element are connected to and engine with one another in a non-positive fit manner in groovelike recesses of flangelike end pieces made of metal.
