  • Patent number: 10816688
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of processing seismic data. The method may include calculating a number of calculated structure tensors for each of a number of seismic data lines, the seismic data lines being spatially distributed about an area of the surface of the Earth. The method also may include interpolating the calculated structure tensors to find interpolated structure tensors in a region of the area between the lines of the seismic data lines, and calculating calculated seismic data from the interpolated structure tensors.

Date of Patent: October 27, 2020
    Assignee: EQUINOR ENERGY AS
Inventors: Adriana Citlali Ramírez-Pérez, Torgeir Wiik, Fredrik Andersson
  • Patent number: 10295688
Abstract: A method for removing internal multiples from collected data, such as seismic data. The method includes predicting internal multiples for each horizon in a plurality of horizons that created the internal multiples. The internal multiples may be predicted from the seismic data in one pass. After predicting the internal multiples, the method includes creating a separate model of internal multiples for each horizon based on the predicted internal multiples for each horizon. The method then iteratively subtracts each separate model of internal multiples for each horizon from the seismic data.

  • Publication number: 20110199858
Abstract: A method for estimating internal multiples in seismic data. The method includes selecting a subset from a set of regularly sampled seismic data based on a low-discrepancy point set. The method may then include integrating one or more depth integrals of the inverse-scattering internal multiple prediction (ISIMP) algorithm over each data point in the subset. After integrating the depth integrals, the method may then include integrating a function of the integrated depth integrals using a quasi-Monte Carlo (QMC) integration over the subset, thereby generating an estimate of the internal multiples.
