  • Patent number: 9242737
Abstract: Described are airbag modules for a passenger door having a door bustle, an airbag positioned adjacent the door bustle, and an inflator positioned adjacent the door bustle. As examples, a pneumatic system is coupled to the inflator and the airbag, wherein the pneumatic system includes a slide lock that is configured to couple a girt bar of an escape slide to a passenger door sill when the inflator is activated. As additional examples, a valve is coupled to an inlet of the airbag, wherein the valve is configured to prevent the pressurized gas from flowing from the inflator to the airbag when the valve is closed and is configured to allow the pressurized gas to flow from the inflator to the airbag when the valve is open.

  • Patent number: 8382036
Abstract: Seating arrangements for passenger aircraft or other vehicles are detailed. Some arrangements position seats at offsets from a longitudinal axis of a vehicle cabin in either “V” shapes or herringbone patterns. Other arrangements include seats that are staggered within the cabin. Further arrangements include pairs of seat that are both parallel and offset from the longitudinal axis, but are placed so that feet of the port and starboard passengers point away from the fuselage. All embodiments contemplate providing seats that are convertible to beds, although this conversion is not required.

  • Publication number: 20040195451
Abstract: Multi-component seating units are detailed. The units are adapted to mount directly to regular aircraft (or similar) seat tracks, as typical economy-class seats do now. The units may include base frames extended beyond the normal seat envelope to permit intersection of the frames with regular seat tracks in orientations other than simply with seats aligned longitudinally with the tracks.

  • Patent number: 6761398
Abstract: Structures and assemblies for stowable tables and similar objects are detailed. Versions of the assemblies may cooperate with pivoting covers mounted to vehicle seats for purposes of deploying and retaining the tables. Other versions may include tables biased to fit snugly in recessed portions of backrests of seats, with compression of the biasing mechanism occurring sometimes when backrests are reclined and expansion of the mechanism occurring sometimes when the tables are deployed. Yet other versions may include tables latching to bars or other objects protruding rearward from the backrests.
