    Abstract: The present invention provides a shutter apparatus and a drive method for the same, the shutter apparatus having functions of both a shutter apparatus for an image interception and a shutter apparatus for an aperture adjustment and being space-saving and low in costs. Within an illumination casing are provided first and second shading plates 212 and 215, first and second cammed gear 224 and 227 having a cam groove 225 and 228 respectively for driving the first shading plate 212 and the second shading plate 215 respectively. A cam shape is structured such that the rotation of a DC motor 235 (one drive source) enables the first and second shading plates 212 and 215 to drive independently. Thus, arbitrarily operating the functions of both the shutter apparatus for the image interception and the shutter apparatus for the aperture adjustment by the DC motor 235 (one shared drive source) is possible.

    Abstract: Each of a transmitter (1) and a receiver (2) divides temporarily-shared data into one or more purification blocks and one or more disposable blocks, and mixes each purification block so as to enlarge a Hamming distance between corresponding purification blocks being held by the transmitter (1) and the receiver (2) by using a Hamming distance amplification effect. The transmitter (1) Vernam-encrypts the mixed data with the disposable data and transmits the mixed data to the receiver (2), and the receiver (2) decrypts the received Vernam-encrypted data by using a disposable block owned thereby, and compares the Hamming distance between the purification block owned thereby with the mixed data with a predetermined value so as to judge whether each purification block can be shared between the transmitter (1) and the receiver (2).

    Abstract: A composite sintered material suitably used as a material for a drill has a sandwich structure comprising a hard layer of a sintered diamond compact including an iron group metal sandwiched between a pair of substrates and intermediate layers. The pair of intermediate layers each has a thickness of 10 to 500 microns. The intermediate layers are bonded respectively to one of the opposite surfaces of the hard layer, with each of the intermediate layers comprising a material which has a thermal expansion coefficient of 3.0.times.10.sup.-6 to 6.0.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. and which prevent the transfer of the iron group metal therethrough in the course of sintering of the hard material. The pair of substrates are bonded respectively to one of the surfaces of the intermediate layers to form a sandwich construction with the hard layer. The substrates comprise a metal or alloy having a thermal expansion coefficient lower than 6.0.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C.
