    Abstract: In an illumination device for license plate which illuminates the license plate from the front side thereof, at least one light source consist of a white LED is arranged at a position upward or obliquely upward of the license plate in such a manner that optical axes thereof traverse with a lower range than the center of the license plate, and a reflector is arranged at a position obliquely downward seen from an observer's side of the light source, receiving a light directing to the observer's side from a portion of a light emitted from the light source, and converting the light into a light irradiating the center or the lower part of the license plate. Further, a garnish for accommodating the light source and having a light transmitting part can be provided to the illumination device.

    Abstract: An opposed reflecting mirror is provided so as to face a light source. The opposed reflecting mirror is configured to reflect light rays, emitted from the light source, so as to allow the reflected light rays to advance in a predetermined direction. A light guide body having a plurality of reflecting surfaces is provided to permit the incidence of light rays supplied from the opposed reflecting mirror and to reflect the incident light rays. The plurality of reflecting surfaces are located at different positions in a sliding split manner along the direction of light rays supplied from the opposed reflecting mirror. By virtue of this construction, a light emitting apparatus can be provided in which, while making the best use of a feature of LED, i.e., a small thickness, impressive illumination of an elongated shape by one light emitting device and high external emission efficiency can be realized.

    Abstract: A casing accommodates therein three primary colors of chip LEDs. The casing is disposed in a through hole of a plate-shaped light guide. The chip LEDs are mounted on both surfaces of a substrate so as to face a peripheral surface of the through hole (light incident surface). The casing is made of a transparent synthetic resin accommodating therein the substrate and the chip LEDs. The light emitted from the chip LEDs can be introduced directly into the light incident surface of the light guide. The three primary color of chip LEDs are controlled so that a desired color and intensity of light can be efficiently introduced into the light guide.

    Abstract: A direct lighting unit fits in opposition to an opening of a roof of a vehicle's cabin so as to illuminate a light directly the cabin. An indirect lighting unit is disposed around the outer circumference of the direct lighting unit. The indirect lighting unit contains a plurality of LEDs disposed at fixed intervals so as to emit light outward. The LEDs are controlled to indirectly illuminate the roof. When the direct lighting unit is mounted to the roof, a fixing piece supports a grooved edge portion of the indirect lighting unit so that the indirect lighting unit is immovably held between the fixing piece and the roof. Thus, the direct and indirect lighting units are simultaneously secured to the roof.

    Abstract: Provided a vehicle exterior lamp capable of illuminating the ground surrounding a vehicle. When returning to a predetermined position of a parking lot, a road or the like where a vehicle has been parked, a switch of a transmitter is operated. By doing so, the vehicle is illuminated in a predetermined color and a selected mode, and the vicinity of a door of the vehicle is illuminated by this light, so that the condition of the ground can be confirmed. Particularly, the color of the light, emitted from a light-emitting source, can be arbitrarily set, and the setting can be made, taking the brightness and the saving of the energy into consideration. Even if discriminating information, such as a code, is not provided between the transmitter and a receiver, the color of the illumination of the vehicle can be discriminated from that of other vehicles.
