Abstract: A flexible substrate on which a large number of sorts of LCDs can be installed quickly and inexpensively. On loading on a video controller, a connector 21 is electrically connected to first and second contacts of the video controller. The connector 21 is wired so that, if a wiring 31-1 is cut-out and severed along with the end of the flexible printed wiring board 11, the first and second contacts of the video controller are not in electrically connected state.

Abstract: A docking unit for a portable electronic device with which it is possible to establish electrical connection of a portable electronic device surely and easily. A docking unit for electrically connecting a portable electronic device to external devices by having the portable electronic device set engage/disengageably thereon using a connector has a base part for supporting the portable electronic device, positioning means for positioning the portable electronic device in a predetermined position on the base part as the portable electronic device is moved over the base part, and operating means, having and engaging part for engaging with the portable electronic device means, for holding the positioned portable electronic device using the engaging part.

Abstract: Dyes suitable for use in the fabrication of color filters are described which contain one or more photopolymerizable substituents preferably represented by the following formula: D—(A—Yn1)n2   (1) where D represents a chromphoric nucleus, A denotes a connecting group, Y means the photopolymerizable group, n1 is 1-10,000, and n2 stands for an integer of 1-10. Also described are photosensitive resist resin compositions containing the dyes as well as color filters fabricated by curing the photosensitive resist resin compositions.

Abstract: A low-birefringent organic optical component comprising a polymer prepared by polymerizing a racemic mixture of the monomer with an asymmetric spiro ring represented by general formula (1) as an essential ingredient; wherein ring A represents a monocyclic or polycyclic organic group, wherein two ring As are mutually bound each other via a spiro bond to form a spiro ring which has a molecular asymmetric structure; n is an integer of 0 to 10; X.sub.1 and Y.sub.1 are binding groups; and Z.sub.1 is a polymerization-active group. The component has excellent transparency, mechanical strength and heat resistance, as well as a low birefringence.

Abstract: Dyestuffs represented by the below-described formula (1), that is, dyestuffs formed of a chromophoric nucleus and a bisphenol introduced therein have excellent solubility in solvents and binder resins, and can provide color filters having excellent transmittance characteristics and durability. ##STR1## wherein Dye represents a chromophoric nucleus, X represents a direct bond or a divalent connecting group, R.sup.1 to R.sup.10 and n are defined with the provision that one of R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 has 3 or more carbon atoms.

Abstract: Disclosed are an epoxy acrylate resin of the general formula (1) ##STR1## and an acid-modified epoxy acrylate resin obtained by reacting the epoxy acrylate resin with a carboxylic acid or an anhydride thereof, as well as curable resin compositions containing such a resin and the cured products thereof.

Abstract: This invention relates to a novel polyimide or polyimide copolymer having excellent heat resistance and greatly improved processability, and has a novel aromatic diamino compound used for the polyimide, a preparation process thereof, a polyimide-based resin composition comprising the polyimide or polyimide copolymer and a fibrous reinforcement, a process for preparing the resin composition, an injection molded article of the resin composition.The polyimide comprise a requisite structural unit having one or more recurring structural units of the formula: ##STR1## wherein L is an oxygen atom, carbonyl, isopropylidene or hexafluoroisopropylidene, and X is ##STR2## , and Ar is a tetravalent radical having 6 to 27 carbon atoms and being selected from the group consisting of a monoaromatic radical, condensed polyaromatic radical and noncondensed polyaromatic radical having aromatic radicals connected to each other with a direct bond or a bridge member.

Abstract: Dyed denim cotton yarns capable of meeting the market demand for color jeans can be provided by immersing denim cotton yarns in a dye bath containing a dye or dye composition comprising a specific indirubin derivative(s), a specific quinophthalone derivative(s) and/or an indigo dye, squeezing and air-oxidizing the dyed yarns, and repeating a series of these steps.
