  • Publication number: 20150088952
Abstract: An arithmetic processing device includes: a reception unit for receiving information including a numerical value and an operator; a generation unit generating arithmetic information regarding an arithmetic operation and having a plurality of codes including the numerical value and the operator that are received; and an information transmission unit transmitting the generated arithmetic information to an external device. The generation unit generates the arithmetic information in which the codes are arranged so that, when a plurality of rows including numerical values and operators are displayed on a display unit of the external device in accordance with the arithmetic information, an arrangement of a numerical value and an operator in each displayed row and an arrangement of a numerical value and an operator in another displayed row are matched to each other.

  • Patent number: 6243726
Abstract: Objects of the present invention are to realize that a plurality of mathematical expressions are inputted and displayed within the same screen in textbook book format, and that a plurality of mathematical expressions are inputted and displayed in textbook book format and one line format. A plurality of mathematical expressions which are inputted in textbook book format or one line format by use of a keyboard are stored into an expression storing buffer on a data storing RAM memory. The plurality of stored mathematical expressions are developed on a main buffer and a sub buffer of a display forming buffer on the data storing RAM memory, and an image which is produced by synthesizing the display data of the two display forming buffers is formed in VRAM on the data storing RAM memory by using CG data on a program ROM, and displayed on a liquid crystal display via a liquid crystal driver.

  • Patent number: 6142367
Abstract: The present invention is intended to enable an electronic calculator device for calculating functions to display a mathematical expression by automatically substituting a variable-value into a variable therein in advance. An electronic device comprises an input device for inputting a mathematical expression containing a variable, a store device for storing a value of the variable and a display device for displaying a mathematical expression on a display screen. The electronic device is further provided with a converting device for reading a value for a variable contained in a mathematical expression from the store device and substituting the read-out value into the variable in the mathematical expression to be displayed on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 5680638
Abstract: A mathematical expression input apparatus which is capable of inputting and displaying a mathematical expression efficiently by automatically determining whether or not an element inputted to a displayed input position of a functional expression can be recognized as a complete argument without instructions from the user. In the case of inputting an exponent of a power calculation, it is determined that the input of the argument is complete when a predetermined number of digits such as the second digit is inputted in an exponent display position thereby automatically moving a cursor from the exponent display position to a normal display line position. In addition, for example, in the input of an element in a root symbol where a left bracket is first inputted. It is then determined that the input of the argument is ended with the input of a right bracket which automatically moves the cursor from the inside of the root symbol to the normal display line position adjacent to the root symbol.

  • Patent number: 5557718
Abstract: In the information processing apparatus having a function of displaying a plurality of graphs, when information on mathematical expressions for drawing a plurality of graphs and information on scales on a plurality of axes associated with the graphs is input from an input portion, a drawing data conversion portion converts the information on a plurality of expressions into graph drawing data for drawing a plurality of graphs and converts the information on scales on a plurality of axes into axes drawing data to be used for graduating axes for respective graphs. A graph drawing portion draws a plurality of graphs such that they overlap each other about a common axis based on the graph drawing data and axes drawing data obtained as a result of the conversion and draws axes having different scales for respective graphs on the same screen of a display portion.

  • Patent number: 5519646
Abstract: The invention provides a calculator wherein it is possible to start an operation on the basis of an inputted formula and successively know the progress processes of operation until an operation result is obtained. An inputted formula edited on the basis of the data inputted from a keyboard is once displayed and the calculator is placed in the state of waiting for key entry. Then, when a Enter key is pressed down, only the operator codes selected among plural operator codes in the inputted formula in accordance with the priority order of operation are processed and a process formula as the result of the processing is displayed. Thereafter, every time the Enter key is pressed down, the operation is executed in accordance with the priority order and the process formulas obtained in the respective operations are successively displayed.

  • Patent number: 5432721
Abstract: When a user requested mathematical expression requiring, when normally displayed, a plurality of display rows is not an independent numerical element in another mathematical expression, for example, a numerator portion, the requested mathematical expression is displayed in a each textbook representation format with element of the mathematical expression positioned in a fixed manner on a predetermined display row. When a second mathematical expression is determined to be an independent numerical element in a first mathematical expression displayed in the textbook format, the independent numerical element is displayed in a one row linear representation format. As a result, it is possible to display in a display portion having a small number of display rows the entire mathematical expression requiring, when normally displayed, more rows in the vertical direction than display rows.

  • Patent number: 5309380
Abstract: A calculator keyboard includes various keys such as numeric keys, a mixed fraction key, and a fraction key, a RAM, a ROM and a CPU. A character including a value or variable for a mixed fraction may be input and displayed separately as an integer, a numerator, and a denominator. Any of the characters in the mixed fraction may be edited subsequently. In addition, a fraction may be first input and displayed, and thereafter, an integer of a mixed fraction may be input and displayed. Consequently, unnecessary movement of the cursor is avoided in editing of fractions on the calculator display thereby facilitating easy and efficient operation.
