Abstract: The present invention relates to aqueous thickener compositions for adjusting the rheology of aqueous water-dilutable systems which containA) a polyurethane thickening agent,B) a nonionic emulsifier,C) a compound corresponding to formula (I) ##STR1## wherein, independently of one another, R.sub.1 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group or a C.sub.4 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl group,R.sub.2 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group or a C.sub.4 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl group, andn is an integer from 1 to 6, andD) water and optionally another water-dilutable compound.The present invention also relates to the use of these aqueous thickening compositions for thickening aqueous resin systems.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions containingA) 10 to 90 wt. % of one or more metal salts of long chain carboxylic acids corresponding to formula (I)(M.sup.n+)X.sup.-).sub.n (I),whereinM represents a metal cation,x represents a C.sub.6 -C.sub.14 aliphatic and/or aromatic carboxylate andn represents an integer from 1 to 5, andB) 10 to 90 wt. % of a carboxylic acid ester corresponding to formula (II) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 residue andR.sup.2 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group.The present invention also relates to a process for the production of these mixtures and to their use as drying agents (siccatives) in oxidatively drying coating compositions (lacquers).
