  • Patent number: 10608443
Abstract: An information handling system may include a main processor, a battery, multiple temperature sensors for obtaining temperature values associated with the battery, a processor, and memory media accessible to the processor. The memory media may store instructions executable by the processor for receiving a respective temperature value from each of the temperature sensors and calculating a battery temperature distribution value dependent on the received temperature values, including determining a difference between two temperature values. The instructions may be further executable for determining a respective value for each of one or more battery control parameters dependent on the battery temperature distribution value, and setting each of the battery control parameters to the determined value.

  • Publication number: 20200051488
Abstract: A discrete LED display control includes a method of scaling the brightness of frames of an image according to corresponding electrical current requirements. The method includes opening an electronic file containing a frame of an image to be shown on the display and measuring a commanded brightness for each pixel of the frame of the image. Brightness values of the commanded brightnesses are summed and converted to corresponding current values. The corresponding current values are adjusted to arrive at a total estimated current for the frame of the image. If the total estimated current exceeds a current limit of the display, the brightness value of each pixel is scaled to a final brightness value. The final brightness value corresponds to an adjusted current that is within the current limit. The adjusted current that corresponds to the final brightness value is sent to the display.

  • Patent number: 10425890
Abstract: A satellite system controller for a satellite system can comprise a receiving module, an interval selector, an epoch selector, and a scheduler. The receiving module can receive, from a transmission originator device, a set interval request message requesting the satellite system controller set a transmission interval and an epoch time for a satellite receiver, the transmission interval being an amount of time the satellite receiver is to remain in a sleep mode between expected transmissions and the epoch time being an instant at which the satellite receiver is to expect a satellite transmission. The interval selector can determine, based on the transmission interval, a sleep mode cycle for the satellite receiver. The epoch selector can select the epoch time according to the sleep mode cycle and the scheduler can schedule the satellite transmission with the satellite system at approximately the epoch time and according to the sleep mode cycle.

  • Patent number: 9597615
Abstract: A fluid handling and separation system has an inlet conduit for receiving a helical fluid flow, a housing connected to the inlet conduit, a collection conduit disposed within the housing in axially alignment with the inlet conduit, and a diversion conduit in fluid communication with the interior of the housing. The housing encloses the collection conduit to form an annular space between the interior surface of the housing and an exterior surface of the collection conduit. Upon receiving a helical flow via the inlet conduit, a radially outward portion of the helical flow is separated from a radially inner portion of the helical flow. The radially outward portion of the helical flow is diverted through the diversion conduit while the radially inward portion of the helical flow is received by the collection conduit. Such a system allows for separating the helical fluid flow by density of materials or fluids within the helical fluid flow.

The tracking device comprises a communication system and a power system, the power system having a renewable energy system and a battery system. The renewable energy system is connected in parallel with the battery system across a first node. The battery system comprises a permanent, non-rechargeable battery connected in parallel with a rechargeable supercapacitor across a second node electrically connected to the first node. A battery diode is interposed between the first node and the renewable energy system and arranged to prevent the renewable energy system from drawing current from the battery system. A solar diode is interposed between the second node and the permanent battery, and is arranged to prevent current being supplied to the permanent battery such that the renewable energy system may charge the supercapacitor without damaging the permanent battery.

  • Patent number: 9069242
Abstract: A method of assembling a three-dimensional display apparatus involves providing a support unit, made up of a projector mounting and a screen mounting surface having a first aperture therethrough; and a screen unit, made up of a diaphragm and an inflatable screen affixed thereto-the diaphragm defining a second aperture in communication with the inflatable screen. The screen mounting surface and the diaphragm are brought into contact so as to align the first and second apertures; and to secure the support unit to the screen unit to thereby create a seal between the support surface and the diaphragm around the first and second apertures. The seal being sufficiently gas tight to enable inflation of the screen.
