Patent number: 12141539Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for computing process flow control via determination of dialogue context between a user and an artificial intelligence assistant. Multiple defined computing process flows are received by the system. Each of the defined computing process flows describe one or more instructions to be performed. Information about the defined computing process flows and dialogue between the user and the artificial intelligence assistant are provided as a prompt to a large language model (LLM). The system receives from the LLM one or more selected commands for a defined computing process flow relating to the context of the received input from the user. The system performs the command as to the computing process flow.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2024Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: Rasa Technologies Inc.Inventors: Alan Nichol, Tom Bocklisch, Thomas Werkmeister

Publication number: 20090277769Abstract: A water still having an evaporative chamber containing the liquid water. When the evaporative chamber subjected to solar provided heat the water vaporizes and then condenses on the condensing plate where the condensed water flows to a collection reservoir. The condensed water contacts solid essential minerals or precious metals to “re-mineralize” the condensed water. The condensed water is contained within the heated evaporative chamber to force suspended volatile gases to be exhausted from the water.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 6, 2008Publication date: November 12, 2009Inventor: Claude Alan Nichols

Patent number: 7519634Abstract: A system and method to efficiently back up files while preserving memory resources. The system includes a generation module to generate an unordered list of backup files and associated attributes, and a processing module to back up local files one at a time by modifying the backup files to reflect changes to the local files. The processing module may include a retrieval module to retrieve local file attribute information from the hard disk, a comparator module to compare the local file attributes to corresponding backup file information on the list, and an update module to update the corresponding backup file to reflect any differences. In this manner, the present invention avoids processing limitations caused by insufficient memory and/or excessive quantities of local files.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2006Date of Patent: April 14, 2009Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Charles Alan Nichols, Thomas Franklin Ramke, Jr., Jack Earl Steitz, Peter Tanenhaus, John Viksne

Patent number: 7487322Abstract: An article of manufacture and system are provided for allocating storage space to a storage pool. A request for storage space for the storage pool is received. A list of locations associated with the storage pool is obtained, wherein the locations are capable of spanning multiple file systems or multiple directories within a single file system. One or more allocation techniques are applied to select one or more locations at which storage space is to be allocated. The storage space is allocated at the selected one or more locations.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2008Date of Patent: February 3, 2009Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: David Maxwell Cannon, Colin Scott Dawson, Barry Fruchtman, Charles Alan Nichols

Publication number: 20080140960Abstract: A system and method to optimize memory usage during data backup. The system generates lists of files and attributes corresponding to local files and backup files, selectively allocates storage of the lists to the hard disk and/or memory, compares the lists, and updates the backup files to reflect differences between the local files and the backup files. At least a portion of the lists may be allocated to hard disk storage based on preestablised criteria such as historical memory usage, a dynamic determination of the amount of available memory relative to the amount of memory needed to perform a current backup, or a prior determination of the amount of available memory compared to the amount of memory required to perform a current backup. In this manner, the present invention efficiently utilizes memory resources to perform incremental backup procedures quickly and reliably and facilitates large scale file backup.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventors: Jason Ferris Basler, Avishai Haim Hochberg, Charles Alan Nichols, Vadzim Ivanovich Piletski, Thomas Franklin Ramke, James Patrick Smith, Peter Tanenhaus

Patent number: 4971397Abstract: A bicycle wheel mounting assembly includes an inner sleeve that is hand-threaded onto external threads of a solid bicycle wheel axle. An operating handle includes two cams eccentrically mounted thereon and is rotatably mounted on the inner sleeve to rotate those cams about an axis that extends transverse to the inner sleeve longitudinal axis. An outer sleeve is mounted on the inner sleeve to be moved longitudinally of the inner sleeve by the cams. The inner sleeve is hand tightened onto the axle until the outer sleeve abuts the bicycle wheel, whereupon rotation of the operating handle causes the cams to force the outer sleeve forward so as to force the bicycle wheel snugly against the bicycle frame. A boot is also included, and the entire assembly thus includes quick-release features.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1989Date of Patent: November 20, 1990Inventors: Alan Nichols, Eric Kupferberg
